MAY 23 2014 THE REST
this is going to be a big one..

and i would like all of you  CP'S TO  watch the feeding process-- and report to me...

megan has it down pat... she loads up with a pocket full of milk bones so after they have eaten
she asks each one to step into their kennel, no excitement just go in-- then THEY TURN AROUND EXPECTING HER TO GIVE THEM A TREAT-- AND SHE DOES-- HAND FEEDING THEM THE MILK  BONE... THEY EXPECT IT AND THEY GET IT.

NOW... I HAVE SEEN OTHERS  THROW THE MILK BONE ONTO THE FLOOR--UNACCEPTABLE   !!!!
IT ONLY WOULD TAKE A SPLIT SEC OND MORE FOR YOU TO BE POLITE AND WAIT TIL THE PUP  TURNS AROUND AND HAND FEED THEM THE TREAT.

AND I HAVE SEEN THE OCCASION WHEN THE DOG TURNS AROUND AND THE PERSON FEEDING JUST WALKS AWAY...
THIS IS TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE--- RUDE BEHAVIOR.

NOW MEGAN--- OCCASIONALLY FORGETS THE MILK BONES SO AS SHE IS FEEDING THEM SHE SNEAKS OUT  A COUPLE PELLETS OF THEIR USUALL FOOD--AND THEY ARE DELIGHTED TO GET IT-- I HAVE ALWAYS SAID IT IS NOT THE QUANTITY. IT IS THE GESTURE--- AND IF IT IS THE GESTURE THEN IT IS EXTREMELY BAD TO FORGET IT.

IF ANYONE HERE DOES NOT HAVE THE EXTRA  4 SECONDS PER DOG ( I HAVE TIMED IT..)  YOU JUST LET ME KNOW...

RULE -- EVERY TIME YOU PUT A DOG IN A KENNEL YOU MUST GIVE THEM A TREAT--OUT OF YOUR HAND...  THIS MEANS---- BOTH STAFF AND VOLUNTEERS.... AND IT MEANS PLAN AHEAD....

AND NOW I HAVE ALL THE CAMERA PEOPLE WATCHING FOR ME--
***********

AS FOR MY HOT EYEBALLS--- THEY ARE BETTER...  BUT SINCE BREATHING AND COUGHING ARE SUCH AN EFFORT, I  GET TIRED...SO I AM AFRAID I WON'T GET TOO MUCH DONE TODAY EITHER..

*****
IT WOULD BE OVELY IF I COULD GET THE HOT POWER SPRAYER WORKING AND SHAMPOO THE INSIDE OF THE BARN SINCE THE OUTSIDE IS LOOKING SO "PURPLE"
I DON'T REMEMBE HOW TO WORK IT-- I DO REMEMBER SEVERAL OUT OF CONTROL EPISODES WITH THE THING... SOMETHING ABOUT FLYING FOAM...

********
IT IS NOW TIME FOR MY EARLY MORNING NAP

  1. Bad credit borrowers caution
If a history of credit score bears even the slightest stain, it is often enough to disqualify the customer in the eyes of a conventional financial lender. Otherwise, the lenders offer loans financial products that ry interest rates of up to 10% over the conventional credit market prices and must be repaid over a 12 to 24 months. Debtor as interest unsecured personal loans would be prudent, diligent shopping to compare solutions and fees and prices.

  2. I totally agree with Carlene regarding hand feeding the dogs their dog bone treats after they eat and go into their kennels. I know I've seen "treats" being thrown on the floor and the poor puppies searching for them and sometimes one pup getting 2 treats and the other getting none whatsoever. So, all you CPs keep your eyes open and, hopefully, the Explore camera ops will follow the dogs back to the kennels after eating and together we can report any problems back to Carlene. Thanks from all the puppies.

  3. The helpers who are nonchalant about the treats need to understand they are not just treats! Hand feeding is part of herd ranking, or in the case of dogs, pack ranking and an important part of training of these pups to be tuned in to their human! It is not a 'reward' but a reminder of who is in charge, a necessary mind set for these pups to grow into perfect service dogs! Every human interaction is part of that training and to mess with it by 'forgetting' one of the important 'baby steps' is totally unacceptable, counterproductive, etc. That kind of help, is no help at all. Megan knows this and therefore comes forth with a few bits of kibble if she is temporarily out of cookies. It's the interaction that counts and she knows that. Heads up, folks! A simple but important step in the preparation for their life as service dogs.

  4. THANK YOU CARLENE. PUPS HAVE FEELINGS AND GET USED TO ROUTINE. SOME OF THE YOUNGER FOLKS SEEM TO SOMETIMES TAKE THEM FOR GRANTED. I'LL BE WATCHING.
