i bought one of those 30 meals in a box-- guarenteed to ber healthful.... because so many times here the icebox is overflowing with things which might be old enough t o vote-- and i just don't know.. so i got this one boxfull of what the military calls ?MRE?
The Meal, Ready to Eat (MRE) is the current U.S. military field ration for those times when troops are out of contact with their regular mess facilities, NOT the fake home-grown version flooding the market today. These rations represent a major leap forward in food preservation technology. Food is placed in the pouch then specially heat processed for preservation which renders it microbiologically shelf-stable, fully cooked, and ready to eat.
yesterday i had one for breeakfast-- elmers glue all wiht sawdust...- ruined my appetite for the entire day and i lost 2 pounds. not a bad thing...
maybe this is how it works????
so today i need to buy a small freezer to put in my bedroom because box 2 is due to arrive and altho we have that walkin---- it is too far away for a bedtime snack...
i am trying to maintain the weight loss i had when i had the flu--- which is apparently my only way of losing weight. there is just toooooo much on the cookie shelf-- i may be successful now-- as i have eaten most of the 900 pounds of chocolate people sent for christmas...
sheila was here yesterday and we had some long overdue laughs.. things just seem to happen when she is around.
none the least of which-- bentley invited scarlott to dinner-- successfully--- but a little quicker than we had anticipated so they were outside... we did manage to get blankets on both of them- but after 15 minutes in the cold scarlott decided to go back thru the "doggie door" which made for an exciting few moments.. it was not nearly as bad as the time chaos decided to go home and went on one side of a metal post--- and her boyfriend slid backwards downhill on the other side of said metal post..
and then.... there is a wondeerful picture somewhere of 2 dogs down by the pond with megan and a huge golf umbrella in the pouring rain- trying to keep the female from backing intot he pond and drowning the male.
the process of puppy production is bizarre at best.
i wonder the origin of so many expressions- the unproductive state of being "all balled up"- would certainly qualify... as would "fit to be tied"
i have some serious research to do today-- sheila will fly out of here lat this afternoon-and i could use some help this mornng.. we have decided not to send gabby to florida with her on this trip- she( sheila) will be bqack the ned of the month for another quick round trip.. that would work better. rumor has it gabby needs some leash work-- we need to get her ready for someone in th enormal world to handle her-- at least for a start... currently she is off leash trained pretty well.
and this is the george to school week-- i guess we need to go to ipswich ( 1/2 hour away) because masco( 10 min away) will not let us in... the local newspaper is the tri-town in topsfield... it is a story that could be told.....geroge needs to experience the rush of kids in th hall when the bell rings... there is no substitute-- not even christmas shoppers...
i finally attacked the quicken data file-- and eliminated the "surprize deposit " of $17385 which quicken made up and was disrupting all attempts at any real budget analysis. i had to go thru over 250 entries before i found that number hiding--- and then it took a while to figure out how to get rid of it... so i am as ready as i will ever be for irene-- the cpa --to come and look us over....
she was on vacation and has now returend--
theresa has started a new system with quickbooks for 2015 - which i am told is not as full of bugs as quicken. quicken was great on the pc/ibm-- mac just never got it straight.
other than that....
GOOD MORNING, CARLENE. GREAT DD THIS MORNING. REMINDED ME THAT I HAVEN'T WRITTEN AN UPDATE FOR JAKE. HE IS SUCH AN AMAZINGLY GOOD BOY. REMINDS ME VERY MUCH OF PERRY COLE. SWEET. GENTLE. PLAYS WITH MY DOG IN SUCH A LOVING, GENTLE MANNER. SINCE I'VE PUT RUBBER-BACKED RUGS AROUND, HE HASN'T SLIPPED OR FALLEN.
HE DOES HAVE A MILD CASE OF MANGE, HOWEVER. NOT THE CONTAGIOUS KIND. HE HAS TWO SPOTS ON HIS MID-BACK. BROUGHT HIM TO MY VETS FOR CONFIRMATION. HE PRESCRIBED A SPECIAL SHAMPOO (PYOBEN BENZOYL PEROXIDE) FOR 2X A WEEK. AND SOME BROWN GOO (GOODWINOL'S OINTMENT) TO RUB INTO THE SPOTS 1X A DAY. OTHER THAN THAT, JAKE IS THE PERFECT HOUSE GUEST. TOOK 3 WEEKS TO HOUSE BREAK HIM, BUT ONCE HE GOT IT, CARLENE, HE HAS NEVER GONE IN THE HOUSE AGAIN. WE ALL ADORE JAKE AND I AM EVER SO GRATEFUL TO BE HIS "MOM". THANK YOU,CARLENE, FOR MAKING THAT A REALITY!!!!
SEE YOU TOMORROW!!! DUMBLEDORE
