JAN 8 2015
FROZEN PIPES.... NOTHING NEW--- BLESS THOSE HAIR DRYERS -- WE ARE LIVE COFFEE AGAIN...

AND MY CAR STARTED REMOTELY--- I FIGURE IF I RUN IT FOR AN HOUR  MAYBE THE DOORS WILL NOT BE FROZEN AND I CAN GET TO THE EYE DOCTOR BY 9AM.

I WOULD PREFER 3 FEET OF SNOW.    I AM AFRAID OF COLD--- PROBABLY BECAUSE I HAVE ALWAYS DRIVEN CARS ABOUT TO BREAK DOWN---  AND HAVE SPENT MORE TIME THAN USUAL COLD- BESIDE SOME ROAD...( BEFORE CELL PHONES)  SO LET US HOPE THE TOYOTA   -- AND MY CELL --WILL PROTECT ME--  ALSO I HAVE A LIFE ALERT THING WHICH WILL DIAL 911 AND TELL THEM WHERE I AM  FROM LIFE ALERT & GPS  --  WITH A GREAT SENSE OF FALSE SECURITY-- MY CAR ALWAYS HAS ONE OF THOSE TINFOIL "BLANBKETS" IN IT.

ALL VOLUNTEERS ARE SUPPOSED TO KNOW  WHRER THAT BUTTON IS    BECAUSE IT IS PROBABLY THE QUICKEST WAY TO GET 911 HELP-- AND MY CAR IS USUALLY WHERE THE ACTION IS...  THE CIGARETTE BOX SHAPPED THING IS IN THE SUNGALSS HOLDER CENTER FRONT  OVER THE REAR VIEW MIRROR.

EVERYBODY IS SUPPOSED TO KNOW THAT.  ACCREDITATION SAYS SO...
*************
HAVING WANDA AND KIARA HERE WORKING INTO THE CRAZY ACRES SCHEME OF THINGS IS FASCINATING-- AND RIOT ADDS A NEW DIMENSION ---RIOT DOES NOT SPEAK THE NORMAL DOG LANGUAGE AND THAT IS TROUBLE SO,METIMES FOR WANTA----- THERE IS ALL KINDS OF DOG LANGUAGE GOING ON--  DON'T BE TOO QUICK TO DECIDED THE REASONING... MOST OF IT IS PECKING ORDER ESTABLISHMENT..  WHICH IS COMICAL BECAUSE WANDA IS TRYIG FOR TOP DOG WITHOUT CHALLANGING BAILEY AT ALL..
THE HUMPING IS O\PURELY A DOMANANT THING  BUT WANDA IS VERY CONFUSED BECAUSE SHE CAN ONLY HUMP ONE PART AT A TIME-- LIKE A FRONT LEG.
******

I DON'T KNOW HOW JANINIE IS DOING ON THE ACCREDATITION-- I KNOW WE ARE DOWN TO JUST  THE ONE HORSE THAT APPARENTLY SHE MEANS TO KEEP WITH THE DONKEYS..--  AND AFTER QUARENTENE PERIOD SHE WILL PROBABLY BRING LINCOLN HOME AGAIN..

WITH  4 EQUINES WE SHOULD NOT GET HAY BY THE SINGLE BALE AT THE CO OP AND ORDER A TRUCKFULL FROM A HAY DEALER.-- AN AVG HORSE (1000 POUNDS)  NEEDS AT LEAST 20 POUNDS OF HAY A DAY ( BALES NOW WEIGH ABOUT 35 POUNDS)  ---THEY CAN LIVE ON HAY AND WATER-- THEY WILL NOT BLOSSOM ON  ONLY HAY AND WATER-- BUT THEY WILL SURVIVE VERY NICELY-- IT IS WHEN YOU START ADDING GRAIN THAT HORSES CAN GET IN TROUBLE... THEY WILL EAT TIL THEY BURST--  UNLIKE DONKEYS WHICH HAVE MORE SENSE AND EAT WHAT IS JUST SLIGHTLY MORE THAN REQUIRED.

TIME TO MAKE THE DONUTS---

ALSO IT IS AFTER 7 AND NO ONE IS HERE YET...  LET US PRAY...

Hi Carlene---just got home after the long drive.  Giddy has been a very good girl--- in the hotel last night she slept w/me & we were both rested in the AM.  Perfect in the car.  She wouldn't poop until we got here despite my taking her out 4 or 5 times.  When we got home, she ate & immediately went outside & got it done!  Sammy the cat hissed at her, she backed up & started barking to raise the roof but stopped after 2 "leave its" and picking up a water bottle. Sam is now on the glassed in back porch & Giddy on what will apparently be her couch since she picked it! After a little more time to re cover from the ride, we'll let Sammy in & just deal with it!  We can't thank you enough for everything but , of course, for letting me love Giddy!  Will keep you updated--shelley

  1. CARLENE - Important information about life-alert - while it will get help to you if you can't reach a phone (like a fall in the bathroom), if you have your phone with you, that is a MUCH better choice.
My husband works for MA State 911 (you may remember talking to him at Dog Fest), and I called him to confirm this.
Life alert goes to a call-center (usually in another state) which then has to physically call your local NON-emergency police/fire/etc number (since an out-of-state call-center doesn't have access to call 911 outside their local area). The call then gets transferred to 911, which sends help. It will get help to you in an emergency, but it's definitely NOT the quickest. If you have your cell-phone within reach, that is a direct, instantaneous connection to 911 (and my hubby will make sure it is up and working for you!)
