THIS PLACE HAS BECOME A STUDY IN USEABLE SPACE & HEATED SPACE--
THE BACK "DORM" NEEDS HELP--
WE HAVE 4 YOUNG PUPS BLOCKING THE DOOR MAKING ALL THE RAISED DORM
BEDS INACCESSABLE TO THE 4 USUAL HOUSE DOGS WHO ARE SHIFTED TO THE KENNELS
AND COUCHES...LIKE CHAOS AT THE MOMENT.
THE BEST SOLUTION WOULD INVOLVE HAVING A NORMAL OUTSIDE DOOR REMAIN OPEN ABOUT 6 INCHES
SO THE PROBLEM OF THE DAY IS.... HOW DO YOU FRAME? A HALF OPEN DOOR
AND HAVE IT BE ANYWHERES NEAR WEATHERPROOF???--
THE PUPS WOULD ONLY NEED ABOUT 15 INCHES HIGH AND MAYBE 7" WIDE
I CAN MAKE A PIECE OF PLYWOOD ON HINGES FOR A DOOR TO MEET A DOOR
BUT THEN THERE IS THAT TRIANGLE AT THE TOP--- UP THERE WHERE HEAT WILL ESCAPE.
THE ONLY SOLUTION I HAVE ON HAND IS A GREAT QUANTITY OF BUBBLE WRAP--...
. AND YOU KNOW HOW I LOVE TO JERRYRIG WHAT I ALREADY HAVE ON HAND...
THE REAL PROBLEM WOULD THEN BE THAT MANY NEWCOMMERS TO CRAZY ACRES THINK
THAT IS THE FRONT DOOR- MOSTY BECAUSE WHEN WE BUILT THE PLACE WE HAD INTENDED
TO PUT IN A DRIVEWAY AROUND-- BUT NEVER GOT TO DO IT... BECAUSE IT FUNCTIONED WITHOUT...
ESPECIALLY WITH GOLF CARTS GOING ROUND...
SO ANYWAY--- ANY NEW COMMER--- LIKE THE BUNCH OF CORP EXEC'S WHO ARE COMING HERE 12/10/2015 TO
LOOK OVER OUR OPERATION- MIGHT WALK UP TO THAT BUBBLE WRAP DOOR- WHICH WOULD NOT BE GOOD FOR
ANY GRANT GETTING....
DEALING WITH "WHAT WOULD PEOPLE THINK" IS VERY INCONVENIENT WHEN WE ARE RAISING THESE HAPPY PUPS.
IF IT'S FIRST THINGS FIRST.... SO WHAT IS FIRST????
I DON'T KNOW WHY I WOULD WORRY ABOUT THE BUBBLE WRAPPED DOOR WHEN THE TRUE FRONT DOOR IS
OFF A TERRIBLY SCREWY PORCH FROM WHEN MARY ( 750 POUND DONKEY) BRAYED
AND WE DIDNT GET THE CARROTS OUT TO HER FAST ENOUGH SO SHE HOPPED UP ON THE PORCH,
PULLING THE PORCH ROOF ABOUT 3 INCHES OFF THE MAIN ROOF ALLOWING GALLONS OF RAIN WATER TO
DRIP THRU.. DOWN..AND OUT IN A MINI MISSISSIPPI.
EVEN WHEN IT IS NOT RAINING...THE PITCH ON THE FLOOR IS NOTICEABLE
AS YOU CLIMB UP HILL INTO THE HOUSE..
GRAVITY ( AS IN NEWTON'S LAW OF...)IS A BIG ISSUE AROUND HERE--NOT JUST APPLES FALLING OFF TREES, BUT
ONE DAY LONG AGO(? A YEAR?) WE HAD SO MANY CAMERA PEOPLE IN THE HOUSE TO SEE THE PUPS,
THAT I HAD TO PUT IN 3 LALLY COLUMNS IN THE CELLAR TO STOP THE WAVES FROM HAPPENING
IN MY COFFEE CUP ON MY DESK.
THERE ARE PEOPLE WHO JUST DO NOT UNDERSTAND THE DETAILS OF TRYING TO RAISE SERVICE DOGS.
WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT A COUPLE CAMERAS WOULD MEAN I NEEDED LALLY COLUMNS IN THE CELLAR.??
BACK TO BASICS--- ALL THIS CAME TO MIND BECAUSE YESTERDAY I REDID THE WIRE ON THE NURSERY ROOM CAMERA, SO WE NOW COULD ROLLIT AND GET IT FOCUSED ON THE BACKE DORM AREA SO THE PUPS REMAIN ON CAMERA....
THAT MEANS THAT TO GET A CUP OF COFFEE, YOU WILL HAVE TO DUCK UNDER A WIRE STRUNG THRU THE KITCHEN--
SO THAT'S NEW?
Emmett and I have been really busy. Today we visited the mall,
I was wondering how he would be in a movie theater so I brought him into one and he did fine.
As we were walking in the mall and past a mechanical Santa Claus, he got a little freaked out.
That is something we will work on. I also believe his squirrel chasing days are coming to an end
have been taking him to a park where there is a lot of them and he has been so much calmer.
On Sunday we are going to a Christmas party for the Rhode Island Ataxia Support Group,
I can't wait to show off. Today at the vet we had an appointment
To get his nails clipped, the receptionist came over to us and said he was"pet of the week".
Ziggy is doing great, every week I keep in touch w/Steve or Megan. Weekends are difficult for us, so we have come by at lease once a month and are planning to come by again around the 15th of Dec. We love the farm and all you do and all that everyone has done for are family. See you soon.
LOOKS LIKE SDP JUST WON FIVE KURANDA BEDS. WE CP'S VOTED EVERY DAY AND HELPED THE CAUSE !!!
