JUNE 18 2016
I AM TOLD THERE WERE OVER 800 PEOPLE WATCHING THE MEETING ABOUT THE BUILDING INSPECTOR
MAYBE HIT SOME RECORD... HERE’S THE COMPLETE VIDEO OF THE MEETING FROM LAST NIGHT.  IT IS LONG AND PRETTY BORING... BUT HERE IT IS
**************
THEN  WE GOT THIS FROM THE UK  EVEN....

I JUST HAD TO WRITE TO SAY CONGRATULATIONS ON GETTING THE DESION OVERTURNED IT BECAME CLEAR VERY EARLY ON THAT IT WAS ABOUT YOU USING THE DRIVE AND CUTTING THE TREE’S DOWN AND NOT THE BUILDING, I WAS WATCHING FROM THE UK .
I THINK YOU DO A FANTASTIC JOB YOU GIVE PEOPLE THEIR  INDEPENDANCE BACK I HAVE MULTIPLE SCLROSIS AND BAD BALANCE I NOW USE A WHEELCHAIR AND HATE EVERY MINUTE IM IN IT I WISH WE HAD SOMETHING LIKE YOUR PROJECT IN THE UK,I LOVE WATCHING MAIL CALL AND ALL THE CAMS
 THANKYOU
                            JENNIFER
***************

MY TAKE ON THAT VIDEO IS THAT THE LAWYER PRESENTED SO MANY WRONG "FACTS"  THAT I WONDER IF WE SHOULD PUT OUT SOME FACT SHEET--- FRIENDLY FACTS SHEET-- OR EVEN GO TO SOME HOMEOWNERS MEETING AND ANSWER QUESTIONS...??? MY IMPRESSION OF HIS PERFORMANCE IN TELLING ALL THOSE PEOPLE  WHAT COULD GO WRONG AND HOW THEY WOULD HAVE TO HIRE HIM TO  ADDRESS THESE PROBLEMS LEGALLY.. WAS ONLY  HIS WAY OF ASSURING HIMSELF A STEADY INCOME.

A FACT SHEET LIKE....
LIQUOR--  THE ONLY LIQUOR ALLOWED N THE PROPERTY IS THE BOTTLE OF BLACKBERRY BRANDY NEXT TO CARLENE'S BED FOR ONE SHOT/DAY A S A SLEEPING AID.(NEXT TOTHE BRANDY SHE HAS  A VERY GENEROUS SIZE  SHOT GLASS.)
ODORS -   DUMPSTER----THERE IS WELL DOCUMENTED NO DOGGIE SMELL- AS ALL SOLID DOG WASTE IS  COLLECTED AND BAGGED WITH A POO PICKING SYSTEM  WHICH IS 3X6  CARDBOARDS,   MADE BY RECYCLING CEREAL BOXES , PREPARED AND SENT BY  HUNDREDS(?THOUSANDS?) OF WORLDWIDE  "CAMERA PEOPLE" .

THAT MEETING  PLUS LAST NIGHT'S " INSOMNIA  ADS"  YIELDED..... HOW WE ARE TRAINED BY OTHERS WITH A PURPOSE..,... AND OFTEN WITHOUT A GRAIN OF TRUTH.
--- THEY RUN 2 ADS OVERNIGHT  MIKE LINDELL AND HIS PERFECT "MY PILLOWS" WHERE "EVERY PART OF MY PILLOWS IS MANUFACTURED IN MINESOOOOOOOOTA"--- PEOPLE FROM THERE HAVE A SPECIAL WAY OF SAYING THAT.
****
THE SECOND AD WAS  FACTORY FARMING  WITH IT'S QUOTE  "CAN YOU IMAGINE LIVING YOUR ENTIRE LIFE IN A CRATE?"    THEY SHOW A PIG IN A CRATE-- AND IT IS BAD...   HOW DIFFERENT IS THAT THAN A BIRD/HAMPSTER/ IN A CAGE---OR DOG IN A TOWN WITH A LEASH LAW AND NO DOG PARK......ELEPHANT IN A CIRCUS...SNAKE IN A BATHTUB... THERE ARE SOOOO MANY..  CANARY SINGING IN A CCAGE???? HOW DO YOU KNOW THE POOR THING IS NOT SCREAMING TO TRY AND FIND OTHER CANARYS?
AND MORE TO THE POINT----- A PERSON IN A WHEELCHAIR---

IN MY CAREER, I HAVE HEARD " THE SCHOOL IS HAPPIER WITH  THE CHILD IN A WHEELCHAIR PUSHED BY AN ATTENDANT. THEY ALWAYS HAVE A REASON  THAT ALWAYS SOUNDS SOOOOO LOGICAL...
" WE HAVE TO CLEAR THE BUILDING IN 90 SECONDS PER FIRE REGULATIONS"    BUT I HAVE ALSO HEARD AND SEEN HOW THOSE ATTENDENTS DROP THE CHAIR AND KID IN THE HALL WHILE THEY GO INTO AN OFFICE... OR THE REST ROOM.. ---- AND  WITH ONE SCHOOL,   THE ATTENDANT FORGOT TO PICK UP THE KID AND TAKE THEM TO LUNCH MORE THAN ONCE...
******
WE ARE TRAINED  TO ACCEPT SOME.... THE ARGUEMENT FREEDOM V.S SAFETY. AND SAFETY  AS INTERPRERTED BY THE LEGAL SYSTEM WINS OUT.
SOMETIMES I HOLD MY BREATH  WHEN I TELL PEOPLE TO LET GO OF THE CRUTCH AND HOLD A BACK POCKET-- OR WORSE... GET OUT OF THE CHAIR AND HOLD ONTO THE DOG.
SO FAR WE HAVE BEEN LUCKY-- EVERYONE  CERTAINLY REALIZES I KNOW NOTHING ABOUT MEDICINE- SO ANY ONE TAKING MY SUGGESTION IS ON THEIR OWN...  BUT THE POCKET DEAL IS HELPING VERY MANY TO STAND UP AND WALK....  AND THE DOGS HAVE BEEN TERRIFIC--

HUMANS CAN BE TRAINED BY CAREFUL VERBAGE TO BELIEVE ANYTHING.
THE TRICK SEEMS TO BE  THAT IF YOU WANT TO SELL SOME PRODUCT, YOUR MARKETING MUST CONTAIN SOME LOGICAL RESPONSE SO YOU CAN PROVIDE THE PUBLIC WITH SOME ANSWER TO ANY QUESTION THAT MIGHT ARRISE. AND AS LONG AS YOU PROVIDE A GOOD ANSWER  THE NORMAL PERSON WILL REPEAT THAT FOR YOU--- SAVING THEM THE MENTAL EFFORT OF THINKING.

HOW ABOUT   BEES ARE WONDERFUL-- MAKE 76% OF OUR FOOD FOR US... RIGHT !
HOWEVER  DANDELIONS IN THE LAWN ARE TERRIBLE- AND WE MUST KILL THOSE YELLOW FLOWERS  TO HELL WITH THE BEES THAT FEED ON THEM .
*********
AND THEN THERE IS  A CERTAIN POLITICIAN--- "  THEY TELL ME XXXXXXXX ---I DON'T KNOW IF IT IS TRUE, BUT THEY SAY IT."   AND A WHOLE BUNCH OF PEOPLE  TEHN BELIEVE XXXXXXXX - NEXT THING YOU KNOW IT IS ON THE INTERNET, AND WE ALL KNOW HOW TRUE THAT IS.
(PLUS I AM GETTING PRETTY SURE THAT THE  CHEERING WAY IN THE BACKGROUND IS RECORDED.)

I BETTER QUIT...

next decision..

i need an opinion on cataract  surgery-
the choice is  to put in plain lens which would not change my need for glasses-- or put in the lens that would mean no glasses..  plain lens are medicare covered... fancy bifocal lens are $3500.

as anyone done these?

  4. Actually the plain lens is your choice, either to see well at a distance or up close. That is what Medicare will pay for. The medium choice was a correction for astigmatism. In Calif. (where I am) it was 400$ per eye. The most expensive was $5000 per eye. That was a bifocal lens. I just had both eyes done and didn't know about the astigmatism correction till the second eye So I have to have glassed still. I can see better at a distance but the non astigmatism corrected eye isn't as good Still fooling with the glasses place to see easily up close.

  5. I'm a little younger than most cataract patients - 56 at the time of the surgery. I've been nearsighted all my life so either wore glasses or contacts to see clearly at a distance. The doctor reccommended I go with lens implants to give me good near vision - like I've had all my life. They do that because at least you know what it will be like - just like before cataracts. Since I had experience with contacts, which gave me good distance vision but required reading glasses, I chose to have good distance vision and require reading glasses after cataract surgery. I did have astigmatism in one eye and the doc only charged his additional cost over the plain lens, so I went with that.

Long story short, after cataract surgery I need glasses to see up close and am a little farsighted in the eye with astigmatism. The other eye is a little better than 20/20 uncorrected. I'm very happy with the result.

By the way, I agree with Kristine Barr. You will either have good vision up close or far away without glasses, but not both. You will either need glasses to read or to see far away. At least the glasses you need should not be bifocal. You may even be able to buy cheap readers at your neighborhood drug store or Costco.

    Hope this helps.

  6. It is the matter of one or both eyes. I had one eye done at 43 due to the other not being close to ready. The I had done good distance so I can opt to go with glasses or one contact lens. Weigh the pros and cons of cost, function and if both timeframe of surgeries.

    1. Then you haven't taken the time to look at someone else's lawn. I love sitting in my dandelion-speckled yard and watching the bees, both honey and bumble, thoroughly enjoy the compound flowers. I also love seeing the wild rabbits happily munch on the leaves. You only hate dandelions because you've been told you should, exactly like Carlene was pointing out.

  9. I just got the plain lenses with the choice of near or far. I took the far and am happy that I did. I have 20/20 in both eyes. And I can read with out glasses except for the smallest print or extended reading of novels. No reason to get fancy lenses.

  10. I had both eyes done when I was 71 and I paid an extra $2,000. or so for the bi-focals. In my case, this eliminated the need for any glasses at all. and now, two years later, I am still pleased with my choice.
