I MEAN WHEN GRACE TENDS TO AN ILL ANIMAL, I DON'T THINK IT COULD HAVE BETTER CARE ANYWHERE.
this isHOW IT IS DONE.
NOW THE REST OF THE VOMIT REPORT IS A MORE GENERIC ONE-- WHERE ANYONE ON HEARING TEH PRODUCTION OF-- OR OBSERVING THE PRODUCTION OF A SPLAT POO-- WRITES IT ON THE "BLUE CARD" IN OUR KITCHEN..-- I DON'T WANT TO IMPLY DANES HAVE A HOPELESSLY FINICKY GUT.. BUT.. LET ME SAY.. DANES ARE NOT A DOG YOU WOULD WANT TO FEED A RUBEUN SANDWICH TO...PREPARING FOR THAT SANDWICH TO WORK IT'S WAY THRU, WOUOD TAKE MASSIVE PREPARATION..
EXPERIENCE COMES FROM BAD EXPERIENCE--- I REMEMBER... ALL TOO WELL... I WAS TRYING TO SHIP A DANE PUP HOME WITH ME FROM GERMANY-- AND .. BEING THE KIND SOUL THAT I AM, I WANTED TO KEEP HIM OUT OF THE CRATE UNTIL TEH LAST MINUTE... WHICH- NOT SPEAKING GERMAN , TOOK ME A WHILE TO GET ACROSS THAT I WOULD BE INTHE CAFETERIA UNTIL THEY WERE LOADING TEH BAGGAGE( BEFORE SDP)- NICE CUTET LITTLE PUPPY...ON A LEASH-- DREW A CROWD....I HAD NOTHING RESEMBLING A POO PICKER WITH ME...--HE LIKED TO PLAY AROUND THE BASES OF THE STOOLS AT THE BAR... AND THEN HE EXPLODED GALLONS OF BROWN SMELLY LIQUID.-- I AM GLAD HE DID IT THEN AND NOT IN THE CRATE WHICH HE WOULD BE IN FOR 6 HOURS... BUT I HAD NOTHING... EXCEPT THOSE 4" X 5" LITTLE FRAGILE BAR NAPKINS--I DID HAVE A HUGE AUDIENCE OF PEOPLE SPEAKING GERMAN AND LAUGHING AT THE CRAZY AMERICAN CRAWLING AROUND ON HER HANDS AND KNEES IN PUPPY POO... I LEARNED...
ONE THING THAT HAS MADE SDP GREAT IS THE PERFECTION OF PAINLESS POO PICKING WITH CARDBOARD AND GROCERY BAGS..
I EVEN GAVE A LECTURE ON TEH TOPIC ONCE AT A SERVICE DOG CONVENTION... THE OTHER SPEAKER WSS A WOMAN FROM BRITAIN WHO HAD A "CHUNKY VOMIT PICKER" WHICH WAS NOT AS EFFICIENT AS MY POO PICKER..
I DO CONSIDER MYSELF SOMEWHAT OF AN EXPERT ON TEH COLLECTION OF FECES...
BACK TO THE REAL TOPIC...
WHEN WE HAVE SOMETHING "GOING AROUND" ...I CAN APPRECIATE EVERYONE BEING CONCERNED--AND CERTAINLY SEND ME EMAILS... BUT PLEASE DON'T GET ALL SORTS OF 54^&*()&^%$# GOING AROUND FACEBOOK- OR WHEREVER..... YOU COULD DO IRREPARABLE DAMAGE.
BECASE ONE STATEMENT LIKE "I HOPE IT IS NOT AN EPIDEMIC OF GREEN TEETH" WILL APPEAR IN THE NEXT FACEBOOK "I HEAR THERE IS A POSIBILITY OF GREEN TEETH AT SDP" WHICH THEN BECOMES "DID YOU HEAR ABOTU GREEN TEETH AT SDP" WHICH THEN BECOMES "IT IS A SHAME THEY DID NOT KNOW ABOUT GRINDING MAPLE LEAVES WITH GARLIC CLOVES- WHICH MY UNCLE USED ONCE TO CURE GREEN TEETH"
THERE IS NO END... SO PLEASE DON'T PUT THINGS "OUT THERE" -- EMAIL ME.
THIS LAST EPISODE TURNED OUT TO BE 2 THINGS-- SOMETHING MINOR THAT DID GO ROUND- SINCE IT STRTED WITH BENTLEY AND SIZZLE, IT WAS PROBABLY SOMEWHERE I HAD TAKEN THEM-- AND THEN OTHERS BEGAN TO "CATCH" IT.. PROBLEM WAS... WHEN LANIE VOMITED... WE ASSUMED......BAD WORD ASSUMED... IT WAS THE "BENTLEY THING'-- WE DID NOTE THE SLIGHTLY ENLARGED/FIRM GLAND-- BUT DISMISSED IT TOO QUICKLY... WHICH GVE THE MASTITUS A RUNNING START-- BENTLEY AND SIZZLE NEVER RAN A TEMP...
WE HAD 2 PROBLEMS- UNRELATED-
THIS IS WHERE GEORGE'S YEARS IN THE VET BUSINESS PAID OFF... BECAUSE IN TALKING TO HIM OVER THE PHONE-- HE SAID EARLY IN THE PROCESS " I HAVE A FEELING IT IS MASTITIS"
AND 12 HOURS LATER THERE WAS NO DOUBT... AND WE STARTED MEDS..
I HAD A NICE NOTE FROM "PIZZA IN WHITE PLAINS NY",AT 2AM-- AND I WAS CONVINCED I HAD TO TRY AND FIND HIM--SO I COULD TELL HIM NOT TO EAT PIZZA IN WHITE PLAINS BUT GO TO MCDONALDS RIGHT NEXT DOOR ON NORTH AVENUE IN NEW ROCHELLE.. SO- RICHARD-- IF YOU ARE READING THIS......I HAVE A FAVOR TO ASK....
. Also this week Eve's left ankle and foot has been giving her pain - most likely due to some already existing "hardware problem" in that leg. It has kept her from walking very much at all
the last couple days. Handling Finn while in her wheelchair chair at school has been challenging but I spoke to Megan today and we have a plan!!
Today while at PT Eve broke her lower left arm! The arm she holds onto Finn with so that puts another wrench in things! Again we spoke to Megan & we have a plan!! (( I love Megan!!!! Thank goodness she's so amazing!!))
Today was Bella and George's 2 year anniversary! We were told on the 18th that
George was ours but on the 19th we signed the official paper work that he was ours! He has been amazing with Bella and changed her life! We love George and how he fits in with the family. Thank you to all at Service Dog Project and all those that always support Service Dog Project.
For those that don't know about service dog project look them up! Www.servicedogproject.org. They are a great organization that trains and donates, yes you heard that right, donates their service dogs to those with mobility needs. They don't ask for anything in return. But check them out and if you want make a donation in Honor of Bella and George!
Thank you all for following along on our adventures even though some days don't seem like adventures. Love Bella and George
