JAN 30 2017
OUR NEW WEBSITE IS A THING OF BEAUTY  -- I
THANKS TO PAM... ( AND JANINIE AND ? A STUDENT?)  A RALLY SHARP JOB...  AND APPARENTLY IT ALL WORKS...  ANY PROBLEM LET PAM KNOW.
**********
I T MUST HAVE BEEN  NATURE NIGHT ON TV WHICH WAS ON AS I SLEPT.. BECAUSE I  GOT UP WONDERING ALOT OF THINGS  ..

MOST NOTABLY....WHY  CANT THEY TRANQUIZE  ELEPOHANTS AND REMOVE THOSE TUSK MAKING CELL THINGS.. THEN THEY WOULD HAVE NO VALUE..  SOMEBODY LOOK INTO THAT IF YOU WOULD....
IT WOULD BE LIKE REMOVING WISDOM TEETH IN HUMANS..
NOW THAT   COULD EXPLAIN ALOT OF THINGS...

HOWEVER-- MY BIGGEST CONCERN-- WAS APPRECIATION FOR   THE BUNCH OF PEOPLE WHO LANDED HERE IN MASS, TOOK ONE LOOK AT THE FOREST SURROUNDING ME HERE, AND DECIDED TO  BASH THRU THE UNDERBRUSH TO GO SOMEWHERE ELSE...  LIKE WEST...IN THAT  DENSE  FOREST YOU CAN NOT SEE MORE THAN  20 FEET .

FIGHTING  THE FOREST IS A MONUMENTAL PROJECT... I LOOK IN THAT DIRECTION AND WONDER WHO WAS THE CLOWN  WHO DECIDED TEH WEST WAS SOMEWHERE TO GOTO   AND WITHOUT HEDGE CLIPPERS , GPS, OR  CHAIN SAW FIRST MADE IT TO WORCESTER..  AND WHICH PIONEER INVENTED NEW JERSEY-- HE WOULD HAVE AHD TO SWIM THE HUDSON RIVER..   THAT IS A BIG RIVER... ENOUGH TO LAND A PLANE ON...

MAYBE THEY WENT DOWN THE APPALACIAN TRAIL  ALONG THE MOUNTAIN TOPS-- IF THEY  FOLLOWED THE COURSE OF RUNNING WATER THEY WOULD GET SOMEWHERE..
THAT WOULD ELIMINATE  THE  RIVER CROSSINGS OF  TEH SNOW PACK RUSHING TO GET OT AN OCEAN,,
THAT COULD EXPLAIN NEW ORLEANS  BUT  HOW DID THEY FIGURE OUT HOW TO GET TO LOS ANGELES?  -- AND THOSE ROCKY MOUNTAINS  !!

SO IF ALL GAUL IS DIVIDED IN THREE PARTS, IS THE USA NOT THE SAME..??. . THE 3 DESTINATIONS OF  THE FLOW OF WATER IN THE USA IS GOVERNED BY TEH APPALACHIA AND ROCKY MOUNTAINS

I THINK THAT CAME ABOUT  WITH THE DISCUSSION OF EAGLE SCOUTS EARNING BADGES FOR  "WOODSMANSHIP"  OR SOME SUCH...  I THINK A REAL TEST WOULD BE TO PLUNK THE SCOUT DOWN IN MY POND AREA AND TELL HIM TO FIND TEH NEXT TOWN  -- ABOUT 4 AIRMILES THE OTHER SIDE OF WILLODALE STATE FOREST.  THAT WOULD TAKE DAYS !!

ACTUALLY I WAS LOST OUT THERE ONCE ON HORSEBACK--ON GWEN'S HORSE ALISIA-- I FIGURED SHE WOULD AKE ME HOME IF I LET HER PICK THE TRAIL.. THAT REINFORCED MY BELIEF THAT HORSES ARE NOT THE BRIGHTEST BULB ON THE TREE..  I ENDED UP WORKING ON THE  THEORY THAT THE MOLDY STUFF IS USUALLY ON TEH NORTH SIDE OF A TREE.. ( HAVING NO GPS,,,,)   HOURS LATER, I LANDED IN GEORGETOWN AND HAD TO CALL SOMEONE TO COME GET ME WITH A TRAILER.
*****
MIXING THE PUPS WAS A HUGE SUCCESS   THEY AHD A WONDERFUL RUN AROUND CHASING PAM AROUND THE FIRE-LACE.. THEY COULD NOT BE LEFT UNATTENDED BECAUSE SOME OF THESWE ATHLETES HAVE LEARNED TO SUBDUE-- AND THAT ISN'T FAIR TO THE ONES SLIGHTLY LESS EXPERIENCES...
I FORGOT TO TURN ON TH EMIC TIL THE VERY END
TALK ABOUT THE PATTER OF LITTLE FEET???  WHAT'S PATTER?

Hi Carlene,
DiDi is doing much much better. She is gaining back the weight, her gums are cleared up/healed, her back for is normal again, and her blood work is all normal. Her front foot is much better, although still healing. The vet thinks there may have been some soft tissue damage which takes longer to heal, but she is anxious to get working on a daily basis. We have done some hefty damage to her savings account with all the vet visits, emergency fees, tests, and meds, but I'm glad we had that account to draw on and she is doing well. Thanks again for your support, suggestions, and guidance over the 5 1/2 years she had been with me. What an amazing companion and support she had been and continues to be.
Sincerely,
Karen

DEAR CARLENE
i READ IN THE DOGGIE DAILEY A COUPLE OF DAYS AGO THAT YOU THAT GEORGE WENT FOR OVERNIGHTS WITH BELLA AT 9 MONTHS AND TESTED FOR PUBLIC ACCESS AT 12 MONTHS.  I WAS WONDERING IF YOU COULD EXPLAIN THE MECHANICS OF OVERNIGHTS AND ON GOING TRAINING THAT YOU USED.  OUR FIRST PAIR IS MATCHED.  HE IS A YOUNG MAN OF 16 THAT HAS HIS LEG AMPUTATED DUE TO CANCER.  CEDAR, OUR PUP IS JUST A YEAR AND HAS A COUPLE MORE MONTHS TRAINING TO GO BEFORE I AM COMFORTABLE FOR HER TO BE WORKING.  I THINK A PLAN LIKE YOU USED WOULD BE PERFECT FOR THEM.  THANKS FOR YOU ONGOING HELP!

  1. Carlene - from an article by a Wildlife Rescue and Rehab/Habitat Research author, "Elephant tusks re-grow when they're broken or cut, so a trimming procedure would need to be repeated many times during the elephant's lifetime of 60+ years. Additionally, one-third of the tusk is below the gum line and can only be accessed by cutting open the skull." So unlike wisdom teeth, tusks are attached to the bone of the skull. Each time an elephant is shot with a tranquilizing dart, it increases the chance that the procedure could mortally injure the elephant.
