JULY 10 2017
FROM A WHILE AGO ( 3 DAYS?) DD ABOUT WHO PICKS OUR CORN AND STRAWBERRIES--, I GOT MANY BITS AND PIECES.... SIDING WITH THE PICKERS--  AS I DO....
I HAVE A GENERIC COMPLAINT ABOUT THE TRAINING OF OUR WORK FORCE-- I MUST STATE TO BEGIN WITH... THE KIDS WHO WORK HERE..---. WORK ! --- BUT WE HAVE A BUNCH OF  "I HAVE TO PUT IN 20 HOURS -- THE CONCEPT IS FANTASTIC.. BUT UNLESS I -- OR SOMEONE-- STAYS ON THEM ENTIRELY,   THEY SIT... IN ELECTIONIC MODE .... IN ONE PARETICULAR CASE  WE HAVE ONE INTERN WHO IS EXCELLENT AT THE ELECTRONIC STUFF--  FOR WHICH I HAVE BEEN VERY GRATEFUL, BUT --- I THINK EVEN THAT CASE HAS TO  MOVE INTO THE PHYSICAL EFFORT TYPE VOLUNTEERING.
IT BECOMES...........OK I HAVE CHANGED THT ONE WATERBUCKET...SO I HAVE NOTHING TO DO..  I MAY AS WELL SIT AND DIDDLE WITH MY PHONE... TOTAL LACK OF CREATIVE EFFORT IN  WHAT IS AVAILABLE TO DO.???( KEN ROBERTSON'S TED LECTURE??  A GREAT GOOGLE  )

I THINK ALL THIS TIES IN  TO MY SHOCKING DISCOVERY AS A KID THAT  YOU DIDN'T GET PAID FOR PICKING BERRIES, YOU GOT PAID FOR THE NUMBER OF BERRIES THAT YOU PICKED.  THERE IS A HUGE DIFFERENCE...

ALL THESE KIDS THAT ARRIVE HERE  TO DO THEIR COMMUNITY SERVICE ARE FULL OF POTENTIAL ACCOMPLISHMENTS-- PARTICULARLY AS DESCRIBED BY THERI MOTHERS , WHO ARE BY NATURE, A PERSONAL CHEERING SQUAD FOR ANY KID...
I AM BAD... I HAVE STARTED SAYING TO THESE PEOPLE " LET ME HEAR FROM YOUR KID.. NOT YOU"
I AM TIRED OF SIGNING PAPERWORK FOR THE GLOOMBHOOODED TEENAGERS WHO  PUT IN 20 HOURS OF INACTIVITY.
I ALSO THINK HISTORICALLY  THIS IS THE REASON WE IN NEW ENGLAND HAVE SUCH LOVELY STONE WALLS..  WITH NO HEAVY EQUIPMENT I BET MANY TEENS SPENT HOURS ROLLING ROCKS AROUND FIELDS INTO WALLS... A HYPERACTIVE KID 150 YEARS AGO .. JUST MEANT MORE WALLS... AND YOU DID THAT BEFORE SUPPER- OR NO SUPPER... THE REALITY IS...  HUNGER TAKES OVER LONG BEFORE ANY MEDICATION.

I AM ASHAMED TO SAY MY EARLY CAREER DID NOT DEAL WITH THE NUMBRER OF BASKETS I PICKED...  BEING A MATH GRADUAGTE, I DREW A BETTER SALARY THAN MY ROOMMATE WHO MAJORED IN  ENGLISH... I LANGUISHED IN THE FACT THAT MY DEGREE MEANT THE COMPANY  I WORKED FOR MADE MORE MONEY  ON ME..BECAUSE THEY COULD BILL MY SERVICES TO THE GOVERNMENT FOR MORE THAN AN ENGLISH MAJOR..
THE REST OF THAT STORY IS THAT  I WAS PAID FOR SITITNG AROUND FOR 3 MONTHS- COULD NOT EVEN GO INBTO THE ROOM WHERE I AWAS TO WORK, BECAUSE  SECURITY WAS CHANGING MY TOP SECRET CLEARANCE FROM ONE COMPANY TO ANOTHER...  WHAT I ACTUALLY DID TO GET PAID  WAS IRRELEVANT.
HAPPILY  I GOT OUT OF THAT  9 TO 5 STUFF WHEN I HAD KIDS-- AND REALLY HAD TO  ACTUALLY WORK DOINBG SOMETHING...A LOT MORE FUN !

I HAVE SPOKEN WITH 2 OTHER SERVICD DOG OUTFITS WHO  ARE ASTOUNDED  THAT  WE DON'T HAVE A PUBLIC RELATIONS  COMPANY ..- ONE OF THE MOST VOCAL SAID THEY PAY $100,000 TO A NY FIRM.. SO I ASKED HOW MUCH  THEY BOUGHT  IN.... "  WELL IT WAS A BAD YEAR FOR CHARITIES  WE DID GET $10,000"
TO ME THAT IS A BASKET OF BERRRIES TYPE SITUATION..  AND A $90,000 LOSS.

THESE SCHOOL KIDS-- WHO NEED THE COMMUNITY SERVICE  HOURS ARE NOT PAID. I AM SUPPOSED TO SIGN THAT THEY HAVE PUT IN THE  HOURS.. I JUST ASKED PAAM IF SHE WHOUDL WARN THEM  I WILL NOT SIGN OFRO HOURS WHERE THEY SIT AND DO NOTHING  FOR SDP.

THESE PAPERS ALSO HAVE A  SECTION OF WHAT THEY DID-- SO I NEED TO BE MORE EXACTING-- I CAN HEAR IT NOW.. " WHY DID YOU SAY I WORKED 1 HOUR.... I HAVE BEEN HERE FOR 8"
GET READY...I AM ON IT.
*******
I AM ALSO ON TO THE FUZZIES IN THE FRIDGE
************
WE HAD A GREAT SUNDAY STEW-  A LOT OF NEW PEOPLE-- WHO MUST BE TTTRAINED TO BRING SOMETHING... LIKE CARROTS... MO HUNG AROUND NICELY  LOOKING FOR CARROTS.. AND WE WERE OUT...
GETTONG THE BABT OUT WAS NOT A GREAT IDEA... MOM WAS NERVOUS.. SO GRACE HAD TO CARRY HIM BACK TO THE STALL.. WE CAN TRY AGAIN TODAY..

SAD NEWS JANINE AND CREW LOST THE PREMATURE BABY... IT WAS A TOUGH DELIVERY  WITH MOM WITH PNEUMONIA   AND TEH TENDONS N TEH FRONT LEGS NOT QUITE READY FOR RUNNING AROUND...... SHE PUT IT WELL

The good news is that there were 4 baby donkeys born from donkeys saved by the Equine Rescue Network this week. The bad new is only three survived. Despite all efforts the little premature baby took a turn for the worst early this morning. If ERN had not saved her mom, the baby would have been born on the cold cement floor of the killpen. Instead, she was born surrounded by people who cared and gave her lots of love during her brief stay with us on this planet. Thank you to all those who helped! Chin up - game on. We have more lives to save and we can't let this loss curb our enthusiasm.

CHIN UP-- GAME ON

RIGHT !
