2021 1 24

wooowoowoooo   i woke up several recipients...  people-- especially younger people do not realize i do not peruse facebook looking for gems of wisdom... am i allowed to say that this new moderrn way of communication is a  paucity of worthwhile information.  to put it mildly.

meanwhile all you people who bought chicken bricks would appreciate knowing what thieir $10 helped to support... with the hopes we get enough to continue this insanity of dog training.  manufacturing fly swatters wouold be  a lot easier.
--
i had several volunteers remarked that PPPP to them was  Purposful Pasture Poo Picking ..i,e, wandering around the fresh air with a purpose.
---
in that vein........ to deal with the  COV situation  as pleasently as possible .. in my opionion......#1. i saw an ad for mask frames made for ocean4.. they looked  well desigened and it is a good cause.... in my  opinion..  i ordered a "pack"  of 4   -- then.... #2.... at this time of year in self defense, i begin to think ourside the doors...and historically teh burpee catalogue would arrive. I am off thier mailing list, but i began to think....if i could just chip the ice off abouT a 12 inch square, i might be able to send the news all gardners are waiting for "I GOT THE PEAS IN"

2021 1 24

Starting with I know very little about gardening ... but way back when I lived in Lynnfield I had two friends Ricki and Rosemary who knew about serious gardening and I had a fenced in pastoure I wasn't using ---about half an acre .. and Rosemary was the one who educated me about the fact that as soon as you can get the ground chipped loose .. it was time to put the peas in .. which meant that in about 60 days I could send my two young children out to  the garden to eat peas before they came into the kitchen have their protein course ... saved a lot of time and effort in pots and pans .. point being if you got the peas in early enough you can plant something else there and still get produce .. we eventually planted corn .. carrots and of course the gardener's favorite zucchini .. but also an awful lot of pickling cucumbers .. because from my mother I inherited several really good recipes for Canning pickling cucumbers .. which if you plant two of those seeds s you will end up with enough cucumbers to feed the village ..

so it's back to planting peas .. I have not been able to have a garden here because of so many dogs and becausw I was totally lacking in creativity to figure out how to have a garden here .. last nights insomnia made me realize I have a fence around the pond .. which if I moved it back 6 feet from the pond it will be no loss till the dogs who are running around it anyway and it would provide a fenced in area that is wonderfully deep in top soil .. with ready access to water ---dip a bucket .. and it seems to my simple minded soul we ought to be able to grow peas there at least .. peas and sunflowers .. because with that 6 foot fence around it I don't think the deer could get at it either ..

John and his son pounded all those posts in around the pond in one day .it's very good pounding soil not the usual rocking New England .. because the whole area probably was once covered with water back when they were glaciers and things around .. at any rate if I pull all those posts out with a tractor which wouldn't take me more than about an hour maybe we could pound the posts  about 6 foot away from the pond which would give us room 2 run a mower next to our fence garden and the peas could crawl up that fence which we could reach through they get them without too much trouble .. moving that fence back in a circle means it would be too short ----geometry being what it is ----so we can put in gates every so often to make up the difference =====any case the dogs would not be welcome in there but without a great deal of difficulty we could have wonderfully raw peas and still throw in some great big sunflowers ..---

In our  volunteer group Janitce and a few others other gardening experts ..I haven't checked this concept with her yet as our resident expert but at the moment it sounds doable to me. .. she was the one that put in that garden fence next to the flat field .. which was hugely successful and I did enjoy many moments out there pulling out the raw peas ....

If any of you have access to soil ..   even just 18 inches square , it's worth the $3.50 that the pea seeds would cost to put him in the ground as soon as you can in April and you just might have some really good healthy vegetable produced .. it's not necessary to have any great fancy gardening equipment ----  my favorite digging tool  is a soup spoon  ... and a broom handleand a coup;le wire  coat hangers would give the peas something to climb on ..  if you don't have ready access to water,  what I have been known to do is the a Poland Springs water bottle and put a needle hole in the bottom .. so I could hold it shut with my thumb  to fill it ---put the top on .. take it out of the garden stick it in with the peas and take the top off ..  and it dribbles the whole bottle full of water into the ground exactly where you need it ..  with just that for equipment you should be able to raise peas ..

keep in mind there may be an awful lot I don't know ..

we all know that .. but it appears to me  that's all I ever had to do ....

if jaaniste  does see this as viable , it would give us a wonderful project to have where people would be at least 10 feet apart out of the fresh air .. that would be a good thing ..

so I await her opinion .  I think she reads this daily doggy .

To cheer you all up go look at the burpee catalog online and stare at the tomatoes and Peppers and squash .. it will make you feel better . spring's gotta come sometime .

and the cut and paste... thankfully....

Hi Carlene

I read the DD today and it reminded me that even though Riz has been a life saver for me, she is a VERY quirky dog! One of her funniest quirks is that she thinks she is “helping” by trying to copy anything I do. I have recently taken up woodworking, and was sanding a board yesterday outside. Riz stood next to the board while I sanded and dug in the ground copying the back and forth movement of the sander. When I stopped she stopped, and then crouched and watched me ready to go at it again when I started sanding again. The result was a nicely sanded board and a neatly plowed piece of ground 😜

      Hi Carlene,
Just a quick note how SD Dorothy and I are getting along.  With a high COVID risk level in the area, we don't get out  in public much.
When we do,  it is usually on a trail hike in a conservation area conveniently located across the street from where I live.
.  I am so proud of her behavior when in public;  always friendly with people  (albeit a bit shy)  and indifferent towards other dogs.
I mentioned to my daughter how people always comment on how beautiful Dorothy is  and other dogs bark at her when they see her.
She said   " seeing a Great Dane is like seeing a unicorn, there aren't that many around."
Dorothy is doing very well with her leash work and commands except during a recent visit with my physical therapist.   I had her
in a  "down/stay"  while my therapist was helping me with some exercises ,  I had my back towards her and couldn't see her. After about ten
minutes,  I could tell by the grin on my therapist's face that Dorothy had broken the command and was up to something.   She maintained the
"down" part of the command but, had crawled across the floor on her belly in order to better see herself in a mirror.  Typical female.

                                                                                                                          Mark

Hope all is well.
I am so excited to see more and more dogs getting matched!!

Tin and I just started going back to school two weeks ago, but due to COVID we only go two days per week. Tin has been doing pretty good with going to school. He is a little confused on why there are so many doors and we are not going in them all. We are still working on his focus in the hallway, but only going to school two days a week makes it difficult. He is learning to get used to so many people in the hallway, but it’s hard because we dont go five days a week and he really needs repetition. I believe that this will get better in time and in fact I have already seen some improvements!

Aside from school Tin has been doing fantastic! He loves when we go out to work and he is so willing to please. I haven’t had any issues with him when going out places except for some very tiny things that we rework and he does it perfectly! Tin is such a good boy and enjoys watching mail call and listening to everyone and watch all the dogs!

I continue to thank you for providing me with such an amazing dog. SDP and Tin means everything to me and I will never be able to thank you all enough.

jan 23 2021 snit

 GOD BLESS FRANCE

France has passed a law protecting the "sensory heritage" of its rural areas, in the face of complaints about the noises and smells typical of the countryside.  THEY HAD 130,000 SIGNATURES TO DEFEND .... MAURICE.... A ROOSTER,,   HMMMMMMM......

----=

I WAS IN A TERRIBLE SNIT BEFORE I REAd   That thing about France now I'm only in a slightly minor SNIT...unfortunately it's another one of those things that I can't put in the daily doggy ...  but I can only insinuate how sNITTED  I am .

let's make a study of it .. it starts when you have to locate a great quantity of white inexpensive washcloths ... we like the inexpensive ones because they just work better ... then you have to locate Kelly clamp scissors and dental floss and start drinking coffee .. after a while you get to welcome a new puppy into the world ,,..you get to welcome not only the puppy but just about as much goop that is born with the puppy .. about three washcloths full which aren't washed but thrown out .. so after getting the pup dried off and nursing you're all set of babysitting that dog for a year and a half .. during which time oh there is a metamorphosis from obnoxious rambunctious teenage horror .. into a perfectly behaved helper / companion for somebody with a mobility disability ..   but.... in the meantime.......

there is so much that goes into the rearing and training of these dogs .. there are books and articles written all round the block but I think I found a topic that others may  have missed  ..

------these darling little puppies weigh a pound and a quarter grow very quickly---- so where  THEIR BM’s  Start off as relatively insignificant within a month or two they weigh one pounds average per day .. And I studied that from two angles ..  1st I have   weighed   the dry food that you put into the dog who then mixes it with water as then weigh what comes out which I just did the other day so I could write this ..  .. My other way of checking to see if my calculations are correct purerena gives us wonderful dog food 192 bags every other month .. so to make life easy it's 100 bags a month ... At 37 and 1/2 pounds per bag that's 3750 Pounds per month .. which probably more than doubles in weight when you add water .. so let's   call it  conservatively   6000 pounds .. 3 tons     12 months   36  tons...Let's just quit there and say a big number .

so now Back to  this one puppy  ( that we are about to donate to someone )has these kind of numbers /

So in the year and a half between birth and graduation somehow crazy acres has had to deal with 547 days of Pooh picking .. Furthermore at 2 BM's a day let's round that off to half a ton .

... so let's just keep going ..half a ton per dog .. and we have graduated now about 200 dogs .at half a ton each ... So what can you compare to 100 tons I don't know .. maybe a battleship . in the  best of times there is no way 12 acres can absorb a half a  ton  oh poo  per dog that's here on the property and most of the time there's about 50 on the property

Now you understand two things... #1.. the guy who picks up our trash/ dump;ster is definitely one of the critical jobs in this pandemic...  and #2  that is a lot of bending over .... to train service dogs?????  but we do it...

So why is it so hard for recipients to  regularly copy and paste a funny story or thankyou...

to all the people who  have    #1 picked that poo  #$2 supported us with the chicken bricks  #3 suffered thru these daily doggies when I am sorely lacking in   materials?????????

Some recip[s are wonderful... you all know who they are....  but the ones that go down the driveway and I never hear a word are the ones that aree going to cause me to get writers cramp.. when it comes to recertifying and writing letter=s.  I have told everyone of them I do not read facebook and need an email sent to me directly . how unreasonable is that ?    you all who support sdp desearve better attention..

.and the children who have our dogs... it is wrong for us to let them not realize.. ok  sdp now has them more independent physically... lets try mentally... your parents often write..... but.....    write your own interesting stories to all the cp’s who paid for the dog you have.... it is called paying it forward...

So afer all that .

I learned a new word  zeugma... I have long enjoyed the song “have some madera m’dear” specially for  the zeugmas it contains

The song contains three much-quoted instances of zeugma:[4][5]

·       And he said as he hastened to put out the cat, the wine, his cigar and the lamps

·       She lowered her standards by raising her glass, her courage, her eyes and his hopes

·       She made no reply, up her mind and a dash for the door.[6]

well i got one cut and paste.....

-----

Marnie asked me to check in with you.  As the pandemic numbers continue to escalate, our pack continues to quarantine (fyi our pack consists of Marnie, her Bernedoodle Hamilton, our bear in the form of a 17 pound Sheltie Mandy, hubby Randy and me).  We are getting a bit stir crazy and we are thankful to live on 13 acres where Marnie and her Doodle can run.  I’ve never known a dog who so enjoys and needs to run hard and often as Marnie.  Marnie’s Doodle, Hami, was just about 4 months old when Marnie and I were matched.  He used to trail far behind her in the run--and when she turned and started running towards Hami, he would turn with a shocked look on his face and high-tail it to me sitting on the steps.  You could just here him yelling “Mommy, Mommy, Mommy” as he ran to me.  Now he can stay a little closer to her but still can’t catch her unless he takes a short cut through my garden to head Marnie off.  Sometimes, as she closes in on him, he still turns and runs away from her with a look that isn’t quite as surprised as when he was younger but still looks a bit shocked.  Marnie and her Doodle brother love each other a lot and are the perfect pair of housemates.  Hami is still young (he turned 1 in November) and sometimes when I stand, he wants to continue playing with Marnie but she is even more determined to get to me to help.  She is teaching him when to stop playing so she can work.

My disability comes from a deteriorating spine and lately the referred pain and weakness has changed from my right hip to my left.  It has been hard for me to continue walking with Marnie supporting me from my left side…..so we are working on making Marnie ambidextrous.  At first she was horrified and afraid to work from my right.  Marnie is getting much better but, to start I must be in a position where she can’t get to my left side….and is instead forced to my right—like standing next to a piece of furniture on my left.  Marnie and I are still are a work in progress but she is getting more comfortable although she walks a bit to far forward because she feels the need to watch my steps by looking down and back.  I lavish her with praise and she still works on my left most of the time.  My back is finding some relief from having Marnie switch sides for even a small part of the time--so it is easier for me to switch back and forth.  If you have suggestions, I surely will appreciate them.  I will also email Lynn to see what suggestions she has for helping Marnie become more ambidextrous.

We really don’t have anything else to report.  We are bored silly (as you will see in the attached picture) and hope that I can get vaccinated in the near future so we can venture out a bit more.

Stay safe and healthy!

Marnie and Peggy

jan 22 2021

"wait just one minute... i spent a delightfu first 8 weeks of miy life with 14 friends -- then they moved away---so we have barrieras between us now   except for phys ed classes.... and then comes the ultimate.... i aint never gettin in that wobbly box with you...  darn thing  gets very instable  and throws me around all by myself   and someone moves teh scenery by too fast for me....i don't understand why you want me toclimb in therte.. it would be so much nicer just to lean waaaaaay backwards and not put any foot near the thing...... when i have to withswtand the ultimate insult of you grabbing a back leg and forcing the issue, i can only sulk in that dark box..  why you wouold want me to sit in there with you i do not know...... then they shut the back doort...  makes for more.... i do not knows   ----  you are some kind of crazy and all i need to do is go back in my appartmenty and think about all this."

that is serious... they have to ride...    4 of  these pups are not willing passengers  amd i think i may have missed the bill//  thy might prefer to carpool.. so today's trial will be to  pair up the  doo's and don't s and see if we cha take them for a ride...

maybe even for a ride to the gas station --
 2021 1 22

A very nice---- extremely reliable  woman   there in all kinds of weather----cheerfully fills my tank and loves the dogs...  so I have asked the trainers as they take these dogs down too their favorite place-- the hotel ...in the process of getting home again they have to go through the cloverleaf with that  gas station is so I gave her four boxes a purine a cookies .. for her to sit in the window so pierina get some advertising out of it and our trainers can pull in next to her little cubicle and she can run out and feed the puppies cookies to get them used to strangers a little bit it may maybe get them to think a little more positively about going for a ride in the car ..I left her with four cartons cookies and she practiced feeding my 3 which worked out fine .. it I think that would be a fun story for a newspaper the local newspaper to pick up .. if we get a little sign in the window that says they're helping the trained service dogs .. which is the truth .

--

I'm a little better today  I was dizzy yesterday to the point that I have decided that's why old people fall down if they don't realize they're falling .   b y having one hand on a wall. I could tell I was not totally vertical.....  I don’t know  if I am bettr today or not.  I did a short mail call  yesterday..

Other big stories.... sizzle.. on my bed.. having trouble keeping Keeping her on her own side of the bed and I think I've discovered she doesn't like lying on the fluffy she prefers the sheets so all my effort to try and keep my sheets clean by covering with washable fluffy..... is not working she very carefully nosed all the fluffies over on my side of the bed it is lying on the sheets .. she is also not eating very well she has not really had a meal in 2 days I think she drinking water she's running around acting fine but she's not eating ,..so last night I asked Diane to get a plateful of whip cream ----that she ate---- on my bed ... that being the case I ask Diane to try the canned wet food ...Diane had said that she had not even picked the white meat chicken off her dinner as she often does .. well the white meat chicken doesn't have the fat fat or flavor I think that the dark meat does white meat chicken is often been compared to Cardboard in my life enough graving it may taste OK but it's not very exciting by itself so sizzle then a whole can of purina wet food off a plate on my bed .. so I asked I added the goal put some more in a dish at which point sizzle wanted no part of it .. so we put it back on a plate and she ate one piece .. what she's trying to tell me I do not know ... I do know whip cream is lovely and she thinks so too .. so we have to fool with that today to figure out what it is it's bothering her could be the metal dish for some reason she definitely stuck up her nose at the dish but eight readily off the plate so thank you fogon for giving us plates to feed the dog and we'll try and figure out the fluffy versus sheets problem .

we're a little tight for space because we have one post surgical case in the sunroom which takes up that long couch so technically Bentley Ann chaos get the Mail call couch Germany the love seat which means sizzle sleeps on the bed..... we have another Barker bed on the floor  they love the marker beds but they don't love the floor .I don't like sleeping on the floor either ..

henry is off down the drivewqy—he  was to email us when he got home.. I have not heard.... hopefully he got it on facebook which I asked him to forward to me....people do not realize how nervous I get when we send off a dog....   it is upsetting  not to hear.

So here is the assignmet for you’al....lynne who  does our  nightly  noise report.. and does shuc aq fantastic job wishes she knew the  different bird sounds she hears at night... is there a  birdwatcher/listeningto person  among you daily doggers who wouold connect with her... send me your info and I will pass it on...

now for the  question of the donkey gender...
it's a boy ( the large donkey janine left here.. so.... can not be a  pregnant one) .. ...  this has been verified  photographically .

for your fyi of the day......  william shakespere declared the donkey was the best endowed male animal.. other people who are more familiar with the cowboy theme have used terms  like "5th leg" .

jan 21 2021

 YOU THOUGHT I WAS KIDDING.....

2021  1 21

FACT = JANINE SAID SHE WAS DROPPING OFF A VERY PREG ( CONFIRMED BY VET) DONKEY...   SO... 2 DONKEYS  ARRIVE.. ONE LARGE,, ONE TOO YOUNG TO BE PREGNANT..

So the concentration is on the larger donkey ... there were four people here connected to her donkey project and when I spoke with him they told me with all authority that the two donkeys in that pen were males .. OK ... knowing how these things go around here I figured I'd better verify it ..but I didn't want to get out of the car so I asked one of the volunteers here the goal is see whether they could figure out what was going on and he came back with great authority and told me that the larger donkey was female .. so now I have four saying male one saying female and me sitting in the car so I asked Lynn WHO'S  a very bright intelligent person  who should be able to tell the difference.... if she would go chec-- she sent anotehr volunteer who  found me in the house and had Mail call and told me that they couldn't tell .. leaving me with either  a female with an extended utter full of milk who's about to have a baby  --Or a pregnant male ...it doesn't really make any difference except for the fact that if it is a pregnant donkey I would pay slightly more attention to be sure it got a handful of graned couple times a day along with its hey .. the hey we have is super hey anyway and they could easily live on it and she could easily have a baby while eating it but little extra grain is nice ..

and then there's Moe .. in an effort to give her grain and not have the goats die from eating too much grain ... I have pulled out one of our nosebag slash pocketbooks .

from the wild Wild West comes the concept of attaching a bucket two other horses nose so as they move around they take their grain with them and you can be pretty sure that everybody gets their own 'cause there's no way of stealing it I ordered a bunch of those from China because not only are they good nose bagsTO FEED  grade horses or donkeys   but they are amusing carryalls or totes for people --  Because Moe is showing a little bit of weight loss and the goats are so persistent I've tried letting bowl loose and putting a nosebag on her with some grain in it .. it is very interesting to watch she she's got the part down Pat about eating the grain ... but doesn't realize that is she fix her head up and moves the grain goes with her   plus she has to learn that when the grain is gone is she just picks her head up and stands there we'll take it off so she can chew on the grass ..

to see all 1800 pounds of her chewing on grass that cannot be an inch long .. Is interesting to watch from the standpoint of fresh vegetables .. the pieces she bites off cannot be more than about 1/2 an inch long .. which is also why horses spend so much time grazing there's an awful lot of tiny little pieces of grass to nourish them .

I think Henry will be off down the driveway today on his way with his new partner --  I heard that he was going to take Henry and go out to dinner with some friends down in Waltham somewhere .. and I haven't heard how that went but I don't expect there to be any problem .. most situations in a restaurant with a service dog , R you ask the dog to get under the table and lie down .. and most of the time that works .. the dogs are certainly capable of doing that however .. these are tall dogs and when they get up wearing their harness if the table is constructed with bolts sticking out underneath as they often are it is possible for the dog to walk off with the table hooked to his harness so that has to be considered .. if you end up with a dog in the between tables I always pull out an extra chair to block them to be sure that anyone carrying a tray would see the chair and not necessarily a black dog lying on a dark floor .. and if there aren't any extra chairs restaurants usually have a high chair somewhere .

We had an interesting email from one of the kids with a dog .. in gym class the kids we're all running laps around a gymnasium floor and our recipient couldn't do that ..however the dog thought maybe she should be chasing all those people that were running .. which is an odd reaction mean we maybe didn't get the dog ready to accept .. so I suggested he just sit down and talk to the dog and explain at great length that they that supposed to chase all those people that are running I think he just wants to join in the fun .. dogs are fascinated with things that are moving particularly if it's moving away from them if they figure they better catch it ..and unfortunately most of our dogs could catch most any kid that was running ... so we should set up sub training for that all we need is a bunch of kids to run around in circles .. which is going to be hard to find since they don't have school outside now .

The hunt and chase --is deeply embedded in most every dog .. and all of you people who read this thing for a long time have heard me explained why so many dogs chase postman or vacuum cleaners .. I think it's the same instinct .. the postman arrives in the yard and the dog barks .  the postman walks up to the door pokes the Mail enter whatever it should go and turns around and walks away while the dog barks hysterically .. that dog figures haha I chased him see he turned around and left he was afraid of me so I should bark harder next time .. it's kind of the same thing if anybody is using a vacuum cleaner if the vacuum cleaner goes tord the dog and the dog tried to bite it and then you pull it back just vacuuming and the dog Gets very confused by the whole process of something going tord him and away from him .

it has a more serious situation if you have a dog on a leash and some other dogs comes in to sniff or whatever and you pull a dogTOWARD YOU.... the dog that's approaching figures he has the upper hand   Because your dog went away from him ---and may at that point just run in for the attack when your dog is limited by the leash and even if you pick him up  you're in trouble .

Thing is ---ours are all great Danes     , picking up is not an option . so your only recourse is to let him stay at t HIS ground AND  get out of the way .. Most dogfights are more noise but everything else anyway --  if you watch our puppies playing by the time they're five months old they've had a lot of practice add chewing on each others necks in preparation for fighting .. our rule of thumb around here is if it's not spurting blood then clean it up and let it heal .  I am sure medical people will Dow mention all of the things that can go wrong with a dog bite .. Our decision has to be tempered with consideration for percentages ... and if we ran to the vets with every spot of blood we wouldn't have time to do anything else ..   so the process of cleaning it up remove the hair around it so you can see what's going on and just watch it .

One other truism about people and dogs .. is if anything starts ..  the larger dog is going to be blamed for being the aggressor ... doesn't matter ----  you have only to watch Wanda .. all 12 pounds of her   chase are great Danes around .. but if our great Danes even step on her somebody'D  Get mad at the Dane

one other small comment here is that Danes are very vocal .. so many times when you are approaching a strange dog the Dane will make a grumbly noise , and be accused of growling when actually the dog is just saying “ holy cow  what do I do now “   and the grumbly noise is just to alert you pay attention . .

Carlene, I have to take a minute to share this little nugget with you. After popping in some bread in the toaster this morning,  I took a minute to vacuum up a spill. The toaster popped, I buttered it, put it down on the corner of my kitchen table and finished up the vacuuming. It took a few minutes.
Back to the kitchen, there was Danica sitting in a ray of sunlight in front of the glass door watching me. My eyes went to my toast and there, a couple of inches away, was a puddle of drool and an impression of her nose!  What manners!  What self-discipline!  It’s these little things that just amaze me, I am so lucky to have such a companion. Thank you.
We shared the toast.
Ever grateful, Susan

jan 20 2021 rosie is ronald

 21 1 20

earth shattering news Biden has got this far (4:55 am)   and now that we nearly have that out of the way... .. ROSIE IS NOW RONALD... A BOY... A BOY DONKEY.....ONE WOULD THINK THAT WOULD BE ONE OF THE MOST SIMPLE FACTS TO GET STRAIGHT AT CRAZY ACRES........ .IT CAN CERTAINLY NOT BE CONSIDERED AN "OPINION"... FACTS SHOULD BE FACTS.  BUT THERE ARE FACTS THAT  CAN BE INTERPETED TOO QUICKLY,  GIVEN  A NAME EASILY CONNECTED TO  EITHER GROUP....MALE OR FEMALE   --HENCE THE CONCLUSION  WHICH IS  PASSED QUICKLY VIA THE INTERNET  WHICH , LACKS  A ... RESPONSIBLE EDITORS MONITORING THE CONTENT.  ONE WOULD THINK RESPONSIBLE INTERNET USERS WOULD HAVE BEEN TAUGHT BY NOW JUST DON'T BELIEVE ANYTHING UNTIL YOU CAN PERSONALLY VERIFY THE DETAILS .

WE HAVE HAD THIS PROBLEM OFTEN....CONSEQUENTLY I HAVE STUDIED THIS PROBLEM...  IN DETAIL   .  THE MOST OFTEN CAUSE OF THAT ERROR IS THE  UMBILICAL CORD...  TO BE MISINTERPRETED AS  MALE EQUIPMENT ESPECIALLY IF IT HAS BROKEN OFF SHORT OF THE USUALL 6 INCHES .TURNS OUT  THERE IS A NATURAL WAY FOR THE UMBILICAL CORD TO BE SEVERED BY STRETCHING IT.. AT WHICH TIME THE BLOOD FLOW IS CUT OFF..... THERE CAN BE BAD TROUBLE IF AN INEXPERIENCED  PERSON TRIES TO " CUT THE CORD" ( AN EXPRESSION OFTEN TALKED ABOUT IN MANY SITUATIONS)   THIS UN NATURAL  SEPARATION CAUSES A SUSPICIOUS LOOKING STUMP EASILY INTERPRETED AS A MALE  APPENDAGE.

IT WOULD BE  MORE ACCURATE TO LIFT THE TAIL AND COUNT THE EXITS.

LIKEWISE THAT BAG IN THE REAR OF TEH 5 GOATS PRODUCED SPERM, NOT MILK.. AND THE YOUTHFUL FUZZ ON THE UNDERSIDE OF THE DONKEY CAN HIDE LOTS OF PARTS..... IS THERE ??? OR IS THERE NOT--- THAT IS THE QUESTION..

IT IS  MOST DIFFICULT TO PROVE A NEGATIVE .

FACT REMAINS.. WE  NEED AN EDITOR TO CHECK WHAT IS OR  I S NOT THERE. OR IN  CRAZY ACRES TERMS... WE NEED A BETTER PECKER CHECKER.

Welcome Mat – People laugh at this one, but it’s super effective especially you have a spare mat. The welcome mats you put in front of your door on the inside are often super grippy on the bottom. Fold that sucker in half so that the grippy side is on both sides and use that to stop your mattress. Make sure to lay the rug long ways on the direction the mattress moves or it will just unfold and not work.

GOING BACK TO MY WANDERING MAQTTRESS....  I HAD A LOT OF COMMENTS... MOST NOTEABLY.. --PUTTING A WELCOME MAT UNDER THE MATTERESS

.... LOVE IT !!..... THAT  IS PROBABLY A WORKABLE SOLUTION TO  STOP THE MATRESS  FROM HANGING OVER THE BOX SPRINGS BY  18 INCHES...AT MY TENDER AGE, I WILL JUST  AVOID ALL THE  COMMENTS THAT WENT WITH THAT ONE.

JAN 19 2021

whadya mean  -- nothing to fear but fear itself.. there is plenty of that ot go around without getting on a rollercoaster...  every morning i get up ( so far at least)  and it starts...

no i better not say that...  well that is amusing .. but probbly only  to me.... .. it is tough finding a topic which is not an insult to some one or group.. especially when so many people are literally volunteering to be  "discussed" on the daily doggie...... loosing one's sanity is rampant... or as morag ( in scotland) would say  "pity so many have lost theiri sanitation"
so i am left with aninmal stories..
2021 1 19
Like the two semi useless gold balls on my desk ..  I had four gold balls but I used two of them on the horns of the   mini zebu that Janine bought my mistake at the slaughter auction ..  she saw a very nice looking healthy  cow about to be loaded  on a truck to  Mexico and it was so nice and polite that she quickly bid on it and put it on her trailer .. as very nice  polite horned animals can be hard to find....  .....once we got it home we found out that was not an "utter"  hanging underneath... and in fact this was a steer .. a very nice carefully raised nicely educated steer.. Janine   has had that problem before when she bought the five white milk goats who needed to have what was not a uutter removed and why we have three of them still   here as the 3 very persistant "snap crackle and pop"  ---- three neutered male goats ---   but back to our animal with horns ..eventually named Elvis ... he was very nice and very polite .. but those horns that a point on the end of 'em .. could be relatively lethal if he just wanted to SWAT a fly by swinging his head sideways .. in order to solve that problem  ==I knew I had seen things that go on the end of those horns to make them less less lethal and they did have plastic ones but I decided Elvis was so nice that I didn't want to degrade his persona with plastic horn balls .. so I called smucker's harness  down there in Pennsylvania country .. because if the Amish don't already sell it--- they  will figure out how to make it or get it .. and Dan sounded like it was perfectly normal to ask for horn balls and yes they had  both  plastic and brass ones...  what size would I like ...

not having any idea of anything I figured Elvis was a mini  stere so I would get mini horn balls ..And since they were only $12.00 a pair I'd  get a pair of medium size horn balls  also   the medium size fit those horns perfectly and once installed by Brian the veterinarian complete with super glue and setscrew they dress up Elvis tremendously so that in spite of his horns he has a great deal of class ..  Furthermore he is not impaled anyone all those horns unintentionally ..   he is not here at the moment ..because he's over Meredith farms where he is amusing to all those people who drive by and look at the animals ..Meredith farm is a private residence but invariably people drive by on the road just to watch the animals ..

a teenager  at  Meredith ( who's name I have forgotten.. sorry)  was the one to babysit  the puppy   " Henry "  during the COV fiasco .. She did such a nice job that Henry is  rightn  now in our guest house meeting with  a very nice man who may be his new owner .. you can't ever guarantee these things 100% .. but the way we start people is to have them spend some time alone with the dog to begin with and see if it clicks at all .

the only complication is tht the heat in the guest house quit Saturday  and we still await it's repair---    so henry and man ( I forgot his name too... it happens/) have moved over into the training room
thankfully haley and lynn straightened it out as it had  become a place for people to hide .   resting from hard work is certainlhy allowed around here.... however resting out of view of the  rest of the staff is , shall we say... discouraged.. and leads to an "unthrifty" attitude toward  work in general.
He ... and henry.. apparently survived... I had told him to come to the main house if he got cold and we would put him --- and henry,,, in linda's off ice on the long couch.
But at least he'd be warm and we have another coffee pot here ..
Even if we lost electricity, we have a fireplace.. and thanks to bud's Ability to keep mechanical things running .. like our woodsplitter .. We have a darn good supply of hardwood .. .
 ------

Now..  the song... "me and my shadow.".. is redone to    "me and my mattress"
Last night I solved it by sleeping diagionally  in the bed.. because  that was the place where sizzle was not....
I would be the first to  point out.." and you call yourself a dog trainer?????"   yes.... I could make her move....  but a large part of dog( at least dane) .. training is to be on a good rapport  .. and try to minimize the unreqasonable requesgts you make of your dog... they are not  mechanical robots ----- you will never hear me stand in front of a dog and yell "sit", just to prove I can dominate the dog.    My children taught me that concept  when they were about the age of four .

We have had a lot of suggestions about what to do about my mattress crawling off the bed ==  not only that but one guy .. Jim .. decided to analyze WHY it was happening

The ceiling attach point of the rope, relative to where you pull on it, may also be contributing to the movement of the mattress as follows. If, when you are pulling on the rope, it does not make a right angle with the ceiling and the mattress in both the longitudinal and transverse directions, a lateral sliding force is being applied to the mattress when you pull on the rope while in the bed.
This can be illustrated visually if you draw a vector diagram of the forces present when the rope is under tension. The tensile force along the rope can be diagrammatically resolved into its equivalent vertical and horizontal force vectors acting on the rope to get an idea of the amount of side force being applied to the mattress. This force can be longitudinal or transverse to the mattress, based on the angle the rope makes with ceiling while under tension. The magnitude of this force can be determined trigonometrically if desired.
Also, if the friction between the mattress and the box spring is minimal, it will allow it to slide very easily. This is, of course, is a function of the coefficient of friction between the two materials in contact.
Regards;   JIM

HE WHO LIES DOWN WITH DOGS WILL GET UP WITH FLEAS. ------ ALTHO SYMBOLICALLY STILL VERY CORRECT,   FLEA KILLER HAS CHANGED THAGT CONSIDERABLY...   IT IS ALSO TRUE THAT SPaying females ruins my sleep..
2021 1 18

How can that be ?  let me count the ways .....
that is very similar to the logic problem of trying to get two missionaries  PLUS two cannibals across the River with one canoe ...
the sun room.. aka linda's office --- has a nice long couch that will usually accommodate chaos and Bentley .. which then forces gymini ON TO  the  PADDED window ledge ... however that area has to be come A working ICU   for a female recovering from being spayed .. which means that the Mail call area has to accommodate three dogs , none of which are small , but the worst problem is chaos likes to sleep in the middle of the long sofa alone .. which leaves Bentley and Gemini only one love seat and the floor .. the floor has a Barker bed mattress on it which is wonderful mattress .. the great Danes do not like to sleep on the floor .. and all of our dogs I've been spoiled about that since birth .. when as soon as they are able they climb up on a sofa which is in their puppy area .. IE the kitchen ..  which is currently occupied by the two harlekin pumps from Beverly ..
even by adjusting the chaos'  domination of the sofa by making her move to one end .. that still leaves sizzle ..

sizzle has talked me into allowing her on my bed .. IT IS QUEEN SIZED... BUT STILL.. SHE IS NOT SMALL... this is a whole new experience for me I've never let a dog sleep in my bed before ..  SIZZLE Has inherited the instinct to stay in the middle of the bed .. which in my case LEAVES ME  scrambling .. BECAUSE THAT  has a terrable complication    of ..."the wandering mattress . "    So help me ..

I put the mattress straight on the box spring at night ..  and by 2:00 AM it is hanging over the edge 18 inches by actual measurement ....18 inches sideways and 14 inches lengthwise ---ALL by actual measurement ..
I have tried to put---- Between the mattress and the box spring ...  some of that material we have on the floor so chaos doesn't slip ...So the last night the overhang was 10 inches and 10 inches by actual measurement .. seeing as I barely had 20 inches of bed Because fSssel had taking her 30 inches right out of the middle IT IS A  60 inch bed .
My center of gravity being what it is, means it's not the melatonin giving me strange dreams about falling off tall buildings---- it's my precipitous  mattress ..

For anybody trying to figure this out the only peculiar detail is the fact but I have a four foot long one inch diameter  nice soft cotton rope hanging over my bed which I use for the purposes of rolling over particularly in the winter where things like flannel pajamas are involved .. personally I don't see how that moves the mattress ... because in the morning I get up get fizzle off the mattress it takes considerable effort  to shove it back on top of the box spring is
so for all you people who had such a good time  trying to explain my last geometrical The lemma of the two yardsticks ,,just you have a go at this  one--- how can one person move that mattress 18 inches sideways when all I did was roll over a few times .

it might be noted that sizzle will not sleep on the edge and prefers the middle .. SIZZLE UNDERSTAND THESE THINGS BTTER THAN I DO..

SO THE 2AM Ritual is get sizzle off the bed so she go get a drink of water and go outside if she has to --- while  I push the mattress back on the box Springs get myself a Cup of coffee .. and sleep for another two hours ..
so be it .

now  on th e  topic of barking dogs.. last night was quiet   thanks to lynne   ..

WONDERFUL NEWS--  DALE HAD NO POOP...AFTER ONLY A BIG BELT OF PEPTO,,, HOPEFULLY HE IS NOT PLUGGED UP ENTIRELY... THE GUT OF A GREAT DANE IS SOMEWHAT FRAGILE... WE HAVE A SEEQUENCE---

2021 1 17

The sequence we go through for those of you keeping track boiled chicken and rice for 24 hours zen  pep told or Imodium then maybe flAgel which I think is for Giardia which is in the groundwater and a lot of 'em have it whether or not it affects him if that doesn't work panacure is sort of next on the list for a bunch of other things that could be wrong if all that doesn't work  Thailand  that's Ty L AN ?   which was originally a thing to put in turkeys waterer and then the swine people found out that it cured whatever it is they get ...  scours ... and a veterinarian in Rockport told me about it with use of great Danes  just a pinch of that from month ..

There is a big gapping scientific problem there in that once you start all this stuff if it doesn't work then you're sort of stuck trying to get a sample to figure out what the complicated problem is //\\...After the chicken and rice you really if there's still a loose stool you really want to get a sample of it in a sandwich bag hopefully in case it doesn't get better if you've already gone past  SASCIENTIFICSLLYT PURE SAMPLE.

FYI      in an effort to make this an educational edict ..

I did learn one day ---  that pepto very often causes the stool to be black ..it may amaze people but into my 70s I don't think I'd ever had PEPTO  before ... and all of a sudden I was producing a black stool in a great panic ran off to the emergency room .THINKING BLOODY STOOL    .where the nurse ask me if I had pepto and when I said yes she said go home normal ..

I wonder how many people don't know that I certainly didn't .   Where else would you find such marvelous information besides the daily doggy .

Or alternately .. CarlENE   is really stuck for a topic this morning

Yesterday’S  i excitement of taking out the shelving from a new van and putting it down on the street with hope somebody collects it .. I thought it would be a good idea to put the van in the arena and people could practice getting puppies to go in and out of it that was a bad idea  I had forgotten it had been raining for awhile so by the time they got the van into the flat field it just plain sunk and required awful lot of what will we put underneath it next or shovel out or whatever which eventually was a lot of plywood rubber mats shovels and the tractor then very carefully turning it sideways taking down the fence and driving straight through that because there's no way we could get it back where we got it started    it was an exciting challenge ..

so it now is backed by the food container which is the only Hill I can think of to back on 2 so maybe we could get the pressure washer out and clean out the back much better before we try and move it again plus that's a fact I think it has three not very good tires plus one flat

I may also go on with a list of things broken ..  Bud reports that the guest house heater is not heating ..  this heater is not a question of fix it with a screwdriver and a pair of pliers you call the little man who comes out it tells you that he can't fix it and you just have to buy a new one .which is what we constantly run into with things like washing machines which BUD THEN fixes . ..but he said he's stumped on this one .. so here we go again to be repairman  in 2020 or 2021 in apparently you only need a drivers license where you drive out to the problem stand there and say oh it can't be fixed by another one ..  how many times have I been through this the heater is what a it's wonderful   is a Mitsubishi or whatever they are heater and air conditioner I think they call it a heat exchanger and somehow I cannot believe that you have to replace the entire unit if it stops working ..  seeing as we have someone coming in on Monday morning we may have to do that in which case I'm going to keep that theoretically broken one either for parts or to send it back to Metro busy   and see if they could fix it ...   buy fury is once again the micro fury .. don't take all these people with mechanical ability and try to make them into philosophy professors ,,you're ruining  the ability to find a mechanic already kind .

Regarding the two yardsticks HINGED  together measuring the presidential banner to be sure it was absolutely level ..  I had several people tell me about the pythagorean theorem with which I am intimately aware but this guy seemed to only have two yardsticks which were hinged and if it's the 345 typical right triangle how was he using it????

That seemed to be hinged and movable ..  unless he had some kind of string for the third leg I don't understand ..

I think I'm going to sit in a corner today and stare at the picture of ROO  and his partner .BEN . because to have his father say it's made a world of difference to him , I'm going to use that the block out the entire rest of the world ---  at least for the day ...Or until someone brings me a little jContainer  of ice cream so I can go back to gaining weight .
