NERVOUS NELLIES.....WE DO HAVE A FEW CAMERA PEOPLE. AS "NEW FIRST TIME MOTHERS" IN OUR CURRENT CROWD....AND CERTAINLY..... I AM VERY HAPPY TO HAVE PEOPLE TELL ME THINGS I MAY NOT HAVE SEEN MYSELF-- I CAN NOT SIT AND WATCH PUPS FOR 24 HOURS A DAY... THAT 'S WHAT MOTHER DOGS DO... HOWEVER... A RULE OF THUMB . THE OVERNIGHT PERSON'S HANDLING MUST BE MORE CAUTIOUS THAN WITH THE WAY THE MOTHER MOVES THEM AROUND HERSELF.------. AT THE MOPMENT-- ONE HANDED IS FINE... THEY ARE ON LY ONE HANDFUL..

I USED ONE HAND YESTERDAY TO ASSESS THE ROUNDNESS OF THE BELLY ON THE BLACK PUP.. AS I HAD 2 PHONECALLS ABOUT "SHE IS NOT GETTING ENOUGH TO DRINK.".. PERSONALLY, I THINK THAT IS SAID BECAUSE EVERYONE NOTICES THE HARLEQUIN COLOR... AND IS NOT INCLINED TO SEE THE BLACK SLURPING AWAY.. BOTH BELLIES ARE ROUND.  WE WILL KEEP CHECK ON WEIGHTS ... WHICH CAN VARY SLIGHTLY FROM DAY TO DAY DEPENDIN G ON LAST BOWEL FUNCTION/. THEY ARE TINY BY REESE'S STANDARDS...  GIVE THEM 20 MINUTES-- THEY WILL ROUND OUT... IF THEY DON'T. WE CAN TRY... BUT THERE IS NOT ALOT WE COULD DO ABOUT THAK KIND OF MASSIVE PROBLEM...... SHE CERTAINL Y HAS MILK AVAILABLE. AND FROM WHERE I SIT... ALL LOOK PERFECTLY NORMAL AT THE MOMENT.

NERVOUS NELLIES I CAN COPE WITH...
NEGATIVE NELLIES ARE ANOTHER STORY.. IN THE ANIMAL "BUSINESS".  THERE ARE ALWAYS "EXPERTS" WHO HAVE AN OPINION BASED ON A VERY SMALL SAMPLE. GROU[P .... "MY UNCLE HARRY'S SECOND COUSIN HAD A LITTER WITH A STILL BORN IN WITH 6 LIVE PUPS. IT WAS BECAUSE THE MOTHER WAS BRED ON THE THIRD THURSDAY OF THE MONTH". THESE "NN" ARE ALWAYS GOING TO BE THERE  JUST WAITING TO BE THE "ACCIDENTAL EXPERT" --
I CAN'T KNOCK THE CONCEPT OF. ---ACCIDENTAL EXPERT ---- I HAVE BEEN THERE TOO OFTEN MYSELF...AND WAS IT NOT THE WAY PENNICILLIN WAS DISCOVERED???  I WOULD THINK THE COV PANDEMIC WOULD HAVE GIVEN EVERYONE A BETTER FEEL FOR STATISTICS AND HOW DECISIONS ARE MADE...  IF 6 PEOPLE OUT OF 100,000 HAD A BLOOD CLOT AFTER GETTING TH E COV VACCINE AND 50,145 PEOPLE  DIED. OUT OF 100,000 BECAUSE THEY HAD NO VACCINE.... I WILL MAKE NOTE OF THE CLOT AS I STAND IN LINE TO GET THE VACCINE.

SO WHEN AN "ABNORMALITY " OR SOMETHING SLIGHTLY OUT OF THE NORM... IS NOTICED... IT SHOULD BE NOTICED.... ALONG WITH ANY OPINIONS.... AS LONG AS THOSE OPINIONS ARE NOT CRITICISMS. TO SAY " I WONDER IF BREEDING A DOG ON A THURSDAY PRODUCES STILLBORNS" IS ALOT DIFFERENT THAN " WELL I KNEW THAT WOULD HAPPEN ... I WOULD. NEVER HAVE DONE IT THAT WAY" -- AND THAT TYPE LOGIC IS USUALLY FOLLOWED WITH  " MY FRIEND SUZZIE WOULD NEVER DO IT THAT WAY EITHER"

ANY TIME -- ANY ONE-- WHO BACKS UP THIER IDEAS WITH THE "I HAVE A FRIEND ...." IS ALREADY ON SHAKEY GROUND... I HEAR THAT IN DOG TRAINING AND POLITICALLY ALL THE TIME...-- MOST NOTABLY, I DON'T THINK I HAVE EVER HEARD THAT LOGIC IN MEDICAL DISCUSSIONS, --- VET OR MD-- SO THE PRE EXISTING DEGREE MIGHT INDICATE SOME PRE EXISTING KNOWLEDGE OF FACTS.... WHICH IS WHY... IN A KNOCK DOWN DRAG OUT ARGUEMENT WITH DVM...GEORGE...., I HAVE TO EVENTUALLY GIVE IN,, HOWEVER NEVER WILLINGLY.

TEHRE WAS ONE ARGUEMENT I HAD WITH MY HUSBAND ( MD) I NEVER GAVE IN... AND WOULD HAPPILY CONTINUE IT WITH ANYONE QUA;LIFIED OR UNQUAL;IFIED TO DO SO.....

CANCER--- ? IS IT NOT A FACT THAT .......CANCER COULD  SPREAD AND CANCER WHEN SURGICALLY REMOVED....MIGHT NOT HAVE SPREAD...? IF THAT IS SO. THEN THERE IS A SPLIT SECOND IN TIME WHEN THE TRANSITION  TAKES PLACE....
HE. WAS OF THE OPINION THAT WAITING A MONTH MADE NO DIFFERENCE...
I WAS OF THE OPINION. IT MIGHT NOT MAKE A DIFFERENCE TO WAIT... BUT THEN AGAIN IT MIGHT.
----
OK ALL OF Y0U WHO DO NOT BELIEVE IN GOLDIE...... RIGHT AT THIS POINT IN THE DAILY DOGGIIE, THE PHONE RANG-- DR TIGER-- TALKING ABOUT THE CHUNK THEY TOOK OF MY KNEE AND WHEN TO REMOVE IT... ( THURS 27 AT 9AM)

I HAD NO IDEA HE WAS GOING TO CALL... AND MY CHOICE OF TOIPCS FOR THE DD Came frfom

paula needs to be formally introduced to anyone goin g to sit with her children..

my other discovery- there is noting more welcoming than a freshly made bed-- thank you cindy... i had dreaded the thought  of my sizzle tossed bed
as i  bounced around on the tractor for about an hour moving the manure pile, i came in and fell onto the bed and was asleep before cindy appeared with some warm food. and would have slept the clock around ,, except paula got fussy about ben. -- so i sat with them for a while---- cheeze was not going to cut the mustard  so we tried the dish of purina wet food..   and she warmed up very slightly-- at least to let him sit by her-- on the non puppy side...heather was due to come in at 9 so i went back to bed having told ben to come gtme if she stood up. it was a zero melatonin. night.

earlier... i was jostled to reality when  cindy came and told me reese had jusgt stepped on a pup. and it was screaming-  fearing all sorts of intern al injuries-- which still could  be-- my half vast experience with pups... is they  can get stuck in scream mode... so i got a jar of chicken adn sweet potatoe baby food-- and with the spoon i i rebooted her mind into food orientation... she is no longer on 3 legs,... but clearly 3.75 legs. and a note was made in the overnight..

this half vast knowledge came from my experience with dogs and commercials...-  i had several dogs... some mine and some  borrowed for the day.... who knew how to do something.... like sit still and hold a leash in their mouth.-- but they also knew what ransom is---  they would do it once -- i wpuld politely say thank you and give them a cookie  --that then went 2 ways - they ate the cookie and  happily took the leash back for. photo.  take #2-#47

however. there was teh connie. the  corgi-- who would eat one cookie.. then look at me  with THAT look. like "you are going to have to do better than that".  and would not take the leash for teh second shot until i had something better in my hand.  then there was the day when connie had to pick up  paper and put it in the paper recycle bin... can in the can and metal in the metal.. all witih out a break in the film,  which she did... but only after  i had a  somewhat greasy hamburger in my hand.

there are alot of connie stories--connie lived nearby and would be left int eh ( warm ) garage while th ekids were in school-- i would just go and lift the door and she wou ld hop in my car.    she eventually was deaf... but continued to be one of the easiest dogs to handle on a set...  she knew the game.

she also bit a director once-- and she was totLYY CORRECT..  there is a rule on sets that the animal person is th eonly one to touch an animal---- we were doing a houghlin mifflikn  ? school book? commercial on the steps of some school.  in rhode island??? .. and the director wanted connie to sit 1 inch to the left- and instead of asking me to do it... he tried to shove her butt over.. connie was quick-- bit nearly thru his thumb... blood all over... connie was a professional....and had her standards.

then ther was teh commercial where she was to jump up on a chair and steal teh turkey leg and run withit...
that was  really  really hard...because i knew that the fake leg they had,   made thie a normal job to her... but once the substituted with a real turkey leg, they would probably have only  one chance to get it right.. as it was... i think we had 2 shots.--- we turned the turkey around for the second.

corgies are a good  "thinking dog."... also....

paula with her two tiny babv girls !!  we are very lucky .. they do not look alike....one is a harl !!    that was a tough call-- paula did not have any contractions-- or even much "nesting" bu the discharge indicated something was going on... lynn had already warned woburn we had a prego.. and had sent in her records.. so as to save time if we did have an emergency... which we did... and  we had previoul.sy told woburn do not spay unless medically necessary.   as teh c sectio progressed  it was determinhed spay was needed.. so that is done... and she losgt alot of blood.. so they wanted to keep her for a few hours to be sure it was coming back... i assume like when you donate blood.. you get a cookie and sit around for a bit...

In case you have not noticed.. we are not general motors.. where there are many job descriptions and  unions and contracts and paperwork..—but we are bigger than I was when I started.... however the jobs really boil down to assignments. And then priorities...if the watermain breaks or a dog gets loose.....or    the food truck arrives... everyone must deal with the job needing immediate attention... whatever it is;.l

Beyond that anything to do with computer papers phones is managed very nicely by Linda. Anything to do with dogs or people related to dogs is done very competently by Lynn.

Bud has absolute domain over anything mechanical and I as chief cook and bottle washer, I am responsible for providing these people with what  ever they need to do the job as  efficiently as possible.. with one eye on as cheaply as possible.  Sounds so simple--- “just put up a puppy pen” ??? reallly??? Here goes....

Here’s one......

We lynn, board ( George) and i---- decided to  concentrate on the  spoon feeding these pups-   as part of that one thing that has been missing for the last three years is being able to take the whole litter out for a walk when they would follow the trainer or somebody wherever they went on the property. And at that time we did have the V pen.. well we don't have the V pen anymore we now have a yoke house with chickens so the next piece of real estate available to still be on camera would be in front of the T tent.. start with not too much difficulty I spread loam and seed and sand.. it got to the point we had to decide on a fence.

this v. pen.  had had  one inch hex chicken wire covered with Polly something and it was wonderful and it's also nearly invisible which would be nice to have puppies behind such a fence.

At this point one of our lovely camera people offered us the money to straighten out the fencing which is a by golly and by gosh arrangement of chain Link given to us over the past 20 years it's a sorry looking mess.  mostly becausr as I was given one particular type I put it wherever it was needed so there's hardly any of one contiguous variety of fence.

I do have a lot of the two by four horse fence which was put up very quickly by some teenagers who didn't really know about straight line but the fence is there so that needs to be straightened.. but then there is getting rid of all this chain link some of which is super and extremely expensive alternately placed with the lighter weight chain link which was rusting.

Now. Lynn  having moved fairly recently.. has the need for fence again her place up in New Hampshire so I offered her the stuff I have it's take it all.  and and piece it together and she would save herself quite a bit of money..  to this  collection of standing chain link there is the pile of 10 foot hi rolls of chain link. Which Janine found by the roadside about five years ago   MOSTLY BECAUSE YOU CAN NOT THORW AWAY CHAIN LINK FENCE.. AS MOST TRASH/IROON OR WHATEVER IS GROUND UP... AND YOU CAN NOT GRIND CHAIN LINK...NEEDS SPECIAL TREATMENT... SO WHEN SHE FOUND IT BY THE ROAD... IT WAS DUMPED THERE I AM SURE.and with a great deal of difficulty got it all into the horse trailer and brought it home------ which was a good thing to do except chain link has a way of  bonding itself to other chain link so that unloading that trailer TOOK  weeks--- the stuff is heavy it's a good QUALITY chain link  and it sat around ever since in two places one is holding the arena skirt down and the other is along are very back fence line there are about 8 rolls all piled up and twisted together so the minute I see my way through to putting this all together then Lynn could make a pile of all these pieces and get it in our dump trailer which is 16 feet long and get it home but let me tell you what I need to start that...

this hex wire is ----from 20 feet away----  nearly invisible it would look so much better around our pond than the two by four horse fence that's there.. not only that but there are places where we could put that 2 by 4 horse fence to better use... Since I'll be ordering the three foot fence to go round the puppies it would be an appropriate time they get a few rolls of the four foot so that we have only one freight bill at a time to decide how much f 4 efoot we need means we have to find the length around the pond which we could either do by taking 3 foot strides or locating the 100 foot tape that's in our yellow building somewhere

Now I have lined up hopefully 6’2” grandson and maybe a friend who are physically very fit and can roll up that 2 by 4 fence and get it to where we would like to have it and then pound in some proper posts for this 4 foot tall chickenwire nearly invisible fENCE  sounds good so far----   now to be able to do that pounding means locate both the post pounder and a sledgehammer because the shorter 3 foot around the puppy pen and four foot around the pond is going to involve pounding in a sleeve into which you put the post.  the T posts which are now holding up the two by four horse fence will all need to be pulled out with the tractor and the short 6 foot chain that has the two different ends on it.. we do own several so after we get all that done we will need to put in the ends of the fence and then tie a string between the two ends so that the entire fence is in a straight line..

to do that we need to locate the kind of string used for that kind of thing usually bright yellow because it doesn't stretch you can pull it tight and it stays tight and we have at least one roll of that in that yellow building.  which which basically is full of hardware and tools

somewhere back there I forgot to mention that the tractor actually both tractors are very nearly out of fuel so whoever is organizing this fencing project has to know that they take diesel and not gas.. and that if you run a diesel engine an empty the engine gets very upset refused to run for quite awhile so we don't want to take a chance on that. and we need to get diesel fuel from a gas station that sells it and not all do -------to do that we need to find I think it's blue no yeah well yellow jerricans to take to the gas station and fill our tractors.

now that yellow building when I say it's full of hardware tools it is just that it's hardly room to walk around the floor with buckets of mixed nails and screws wrenches of all sizes in the three or four different places Hammers pounders electric stuff all plugged in and not plugged in it's full now I have a a table which I put basically outside that yellow building with the idea of emptying the building keeping what we need and can find and putting everything else down on the street that's a lofty goal because the table needs to be covered with that wonderful white stuff so we don't lose any screws off under the ground but also the seats on one side of this picnic table are not attached so either we have to look at it and screw it down tight or go find more boards which we have plenty and put new seats

So there you have just some of the details in “just put up a puppy fence “   so that. .. lynn...  can improve on the start of their training

we will get it done but rest assured that's not a complete list – but it gives you some  idea why crazy acres is just slightly off beat... to adopt the “ just hire some company”  mentality.... would break the bank.  Soooooooo.  Any of yoU  coming to visit in the next 3 months will  probably be  DRAFTED INTO some phase of this and hopefully by fall we're all organized.

let us pray

we now have seven lovely little puppies for which to prepare this puppy pen.

science---school playgrounds shold be designed as lessons in science and physics....   may i go so far as to say that the lack of logical science even as young as grade school is detremental to the national mentality..... science is terrrifying to most every generic mother/  and certainly the teachers i knew as a kid...  until i ran into MR BROWN. in high school-- known for being eccentric --- he climbed up an the table which meant he head almost hit the cieling-- as he proceeded to displaY THE CONCEPT THAT  ANY WEIGHT  NOT ON THE GROUND HAD POTENTIAL ENERGY TO DO WORK... THE FACT THAT SO MANY OF US HAVE BEEN CAREFLLY TRAINED TO AVOID  SCIENCE IS NOW A HUGE PROBLEM  WITH COV AND VACCINES... BUT EVEN WORSE... THERE ARE SOOOOO MANY COOKIE PEOPLE OUT THERE WHO ARE PUTTING FORTH IDEAS THAT ARE NOT WORTH THE PAPER THEY ARE WRITTEN ON...  EXCEPT THEY ARE NOT WRITTEN ON PAPER ANYMORE...THEY HAVE THE INTERNET TO CAREFULLY TRAAIN MINDS NOT TO TRUST  ANYTHING ..

THE  "I HEARD" EDUCATION  IS RAMPANT AND DEVASTATING .

I GOT TO THINKING ABOUT SEE SAWS FOR KIDS-- NORMAL SEE SAWS ABOUT 24 INCHES OFF THE GROUND...
BOY THOSE CAN BE TERRIBLE  FOR THE KIID WHO HAS FRIENDS INCLINED TO JUMPO OFF.. NOW IN SCHOOL YARDS....  I WOULD HAVE A  VERY STRONG BOARD.. WITH ABOUT A 6 INCH FULCRUM.. AND TEH GAME WOULD BE TO GET ENOUGH KIDS ON LOCATIONS ON TH AT BOARD TO "BALANCE"  IT... IT WOULD BE A GAME WITH A GOAL, TEAMWORK AND NO WINNER OR LOOSER-- AND IT WOULD PAINLESSLY TEACH SOME SCIENCE... LEVERS.

MY KIDS HAD A FLYING SAUCER-- 2  circle PIECES OF PLYWOOD WITH A CAR SPRING BETWEEN THEM... IT WAS TOUGH FOR ONE KID TO GET ON IT..  BUT THEY SPENT TIME TRYING TO GET 2 OR 3 ON IT... IT WORKED.

RAther than set up a classroom for dry dull  science education.. i wonder how many physical principals cou e be  at least started/demoed in recess time. pendulums as swings??? s.. come on ... there are engineers out there..
----
zoom meetings--- i just did a zoom with a vet hospital in california-- they did not have internet access.. and the zoom seeded to work well

why there is a vet hospital with a dozen men sitting around that does not have access to at least the explore cameras .. is terrible.
maybe i need to get on a horn about  that one???
just think what alexa wold do for the alzheimer groups...

-----
i just poked at judy to jet her back on wandering thru nursing homes.....and i got this
HI CARLENE,
IN THE LAST TWO WEEKS NURSING HOMES, SCHOOLS AND HOSPITALS HAVE REQUEST THERAPY DOGS TO START VISITING AGAIN. TUMBLER WENT TO HER FIRST HOSPITAL VISIT ON TUESDAY. I WONDERED HOW SHE WAS GOING TO REACT TO NEW SOUNDS, SMELLS AND NEW HOSPITAL ESPECIALLY NOT VISITING ANY FACILITIES SINCE COVID.  ....SHE WAS SPOT ON. FROM PARKING GARAGE, POLICE DIRECTING TRAFFIC, LOTS OF PEOPLE COMING AT HER FROM ALL DIRECTIONS, ELEVATORS AND DIFFERENT SOUNDS, SHE SEEMED TO ENJOY HERSELF AND SHE WAS A BIG HIT. EVERYONE WAS SO IMPRESSED WITH HER CALM DEMEANOR AND OF COURSE CUTE LOOKS !!!! I AM SO SO GRATEFUL FOR HER AND PROUD HOW SHE IS MAKING A DIFFERENCE IN HER OWN WAY !!!!! GOOD GIRL TUMBLEWEED !!!!

CONGRATULATIONS ON THE ADORABLE PUPPIES AND MORE TO COME !!!!

gas shortage has caused a "run" on toilet paper in georgia?  there is no hope.. once an idea is implanted there is no return to  zero ... and panic about excessive gas prices of $2.89????  excessive is $5.00 a gallon... and i am not sure $5 is bad... it would make more people per car...  therfore fewer cars per road.. altho thaT IDEA DID NOT WORK WITH CIGARETTES-- I REMEMBER A PACK WAS 18 CENTS. WITH 2 PENNIES IN THE CELOPHANE WHEN YOU BOUGHT FROM A MACHINE.

AND I REMEMBER PACKS OF 4 CIGARETTES  GIVEN OUT BY A  STUDENT  "REP" AT COLBY... TO TRY AND GET YOU ADDICTED TO THIER  BRAND..  THAT AND TEH 500 WORD SPELLING TEST WERE ABOUT THE ONLY THINGS I REMEMBER OF COLBY.

PAULA ... HAS STARTED TEH "UNDER" PART OF LABOR-- WHERE SHE REALLY WANTS TO GET UNDER THE SOFA-- I SAW THAT START LAST NIGHT AND WENT TO SEE HOW INTENSE SHE WAS... NOT VERY...-
---
NOW ABOUT COMMUTING..... ONE REASON CRAZY ACRES HAS DEVELOPED THE WAY IT HAS ... IS THE FACT THAT I SPENT A GREAT DEAL OF TIME ALONE IN MY CAR DELIVERING MAGAZINES..  IT ELIMINATED THE REST OF THE WORLD AND GAVE ME TIME TO THINK OF STRANGE IDEAS........AS I SAT IN THE TRAFFIC JAM OF LIFE...
---
THERE WAS ANOTHR CONCEPT I LEARNED FROM  TEH WANTAD-- MR GRELLIER ( WHO OWNED TEH WANTAD.... WAS OFTEN FOUND EMPTYING THE SCRAP BASKETS   FROM ALL OVER TEH OFFICE.. I THOUGHT THAT WAS A RATHER SIMPLE CHORE FOR THE BOSS TO BE DOING....  BUT THAT WAS HOW HE KEPT TRACK OF WHAT ELSE WAS GOING ON IN THAT OFFICE.
THERE IS A GREAT DEAL TO BE SAID FOR MANAGEMENT  TO BE INVOLVED IN THE FINAL PRODUCT. LIKE THAT TV SHOW UNDERCOVER BOSS...
---
WE LIVED BY THE WANTADS.. NOT ONY FOR THE INCOME, BUT WE HEATED THE HOUSE WITH THE RETURNS.. ONE CARTON LIT IN ONE CORNER   LOOKED LIKE A LOG FIRE IN ABOUTR 15 MINUTES.. AND STUFFING HANDFULS  IN THE POT BELLY STOVE KEPT THE SITTING ROOM COSY..    THAT WAS THE ROOM WHERE I HAD TO DRILL A HOLE IN THE FLOOR AND PUT A FUNNEL IN IT SO TEH DRIP IN THE ROOF WOULD LAND IN THE CELLAR.. WHERE FOR SOME REASON THERE WAS A RACE HORSE WITH SOME AILMENT.. I FORGET.
---
I SOLD THE PLACE TO A GUY WITH A LIVELY MIND.... "AS IS, WHERE IS" WITHOUT BENEFIT OF A REALITOR.  I WAS NEVER SURE WHY THE REALITORS CHARGES SO MUCH...  IF I GOT THE MONEY TO DEPOSIT AND SIGNED PAPERS SAYING THE PROPERTY WAS HIS. WHAT ELSE WAS THERE.
I AM SURE SOMEONE WILL COME UP WITH REASON S TO  WORRY....
----
THE MARKETING OF FEAR IS WHAT KEEPS OUR. PAPERWORK  GOING.

LYNN AND I  WILL START THE SPOON FEEDING TODAY... MAYBE AN HOUR AFTER THEY HAVE THEIR GRUEL BREAKFAST..... I AM NOT SURE WHICH PEOPLE WILL CONTINUE.... IT NEEDS TIMING... PERSONALLY I WONDER IF LINDA COULD BE OUR PUPPY FEEDER...  SHE REMEMBERS NAMES REALLY WELL... COULD ORGANIZE ALL THE PIECES .. LIKE TOWEL ON TEH FLOOR...  WORTH A TRY.. EVENTUALLY.   FIRST LYNNAND I HAVE TO GT IT STARTED...   WHILE PAULA "COOKS".

THIS IS FRIDAY... THAT MEANS PAULA WILL DECIDE SHE NEEDS A C- SECTION ON SUNDAY... JUST BECAUSE THAT.  IS HOW DELIVERIES GO.... SUNDAY IS THE DAY....

ANY BODY WANNA BET???

why would chaos falling mean i need new pajamas???? let me count the ways....night before last.... that would be tuesday- wednesday overnight... chaos went to get off the sofa in the sunroom.  and missed hitting the blue non slip stuff on the floor.... her back end just went and she could  not get up.

2021 5 13

That is an emergency and the general instruction for emergencies is to wake up  CArlene---which is what they did.    Carlene ambled quickly to the scene of the accident having been roused out of deep sleep  to quickly analyze the situation and the available equipment. Now chaos is quite used to my coming to help her so she just very good just waited there for me to take 5 seconds to figure out what I was going to do---- so I moved the bed on the floor over right in front of her and then with great difficulty I bent over and managed to get my hands under her rear end sort of lift and shove so she landed on that bed which would be fine and comfortable for the entire night. The problem was the bend over -----I never will be able to stop and think ---there's a camera watching ---before I try and deal with some dog emergency.---- Fortunately Linda at home had seen this developing and somehow managed to delete the photo of my efforts to get chaos in the bed. However the whole picture was on just long enough for a few people to make the suggestion that I might be better off with a new pair of pajamas. Please don't everybody send me pajamas I'll go buy a pair ---it's time---- but the story doesn't end there. Whatever happens on camera is going to get comments---  so aside from deciding I need needed new pajamas,   the call quickly went up --- why didn't carlene use the dog lifting device ???  well she didn't use the lifting device because it was over by the front door and I was in the sunroom there would also be the added complication if you're going to lift something it implies you get the lifter underneath the lifteeeee.. chaos ‘s entire frame was on the floor-- her back legs stretching forward to her front armpits so that all 150 pounds we're pretty much flat out.. so to get the lifter underneath her would be more problem then just try to lift it to get her moved -----so although I did not use the approved method,   people were relatively kind on that score. Most people we're very kind it had a grand time with the bend over pajama problem.and why was carlene becoming a plumber??    .. but then we got into "why did carlene have to lift her?    I  thought lynn  was running the place.". So  that topic went around---- someone finally told that group that Llynn  lives about an hour away and it's just not one of those things I could let happen without trying to fix it myself.. So although I am absolutely delighted to be relieved of the basic running of the place, crazy acres just cannot be hammered into a perfect job description for anybody ----there is no way you could anticipate the things that happen here.. You could nearly write an entire book on the topic of chaos  falling down in the first place.. so to try and put that one happening into a job description would just not be possible.. Fortunately chaos is used to my working with her when she falls---and I certainly don't mind getting out of bed to help her back on her feet.. that's not a problem... Once she has all four feet under her she generally just walks off---- it's the slightest slide sideways that makes her just collapse. We have covered nearly the whole for first floor with that wonderful pig company’s  blue stuff is the best I can do I think the company name.  something about pig----- it is wonderful but we missed the Patch right where she chose to get off the sofa and one foot slid and down she went...

As we discussed the “accident”  in a shakedown session with linda and lynn... it was quickly noticed the missing blue stuff... and here it was 2pm... the critical part is... why was it not remedied immediately???   The roll of blue stuff was within 3 feet of the bare spot.  So  for those who really like to identify a problem that needs correction that certainly would be one of them the remedy was right there and here it was 2:00 o'clock in the afternoon and we had yet put a new Patch down so everybody who  wants to criticize that particular action you go right ahead because that certainly was a problem it should have been fixed right away.

now having fixed it right away so she could spend Wednesday on the sofa in the sunroom it will all have to be pulled up today when Paula arrives because that will be the area where she will have puppies---- there's no point in having the blue sticky on the floor when puppies are being produced.. so you see everything is complicated here and the best we can do is muddle through .

but believe me I appreciate people who try and be constructive.. like wiping out any video of any bending over... moving on

I've got to figure out how to type this next bit so that it doesn't get wiped out for spam

this next bit pertains to donkeys- which are normally referred to as    as  ses

this topic of as s holes was sent to me....

as  s holes.  come on now... raise up your mind.....

wild animals are generally considered a threat to the natural environment, and have been the target of mass eradication and lethal control programs in Australia. However, as we show in a new research paper in Science, these animals do something amazing that has long been overlooked: they dig wells — or “ass holes”.

In fact, we found that ass holes in North America — where feral donkeys and horses are widespread — dramatically increased water availability in desert streams, particularly during the height of summer when temperatures reached near 50℃. At some sites, the wells were the only sources of water.

so  there !!

may 12 2921

i always used a 60 cc syringe to baste any turkey i was cooking ( about once every 8 years)  -- i did expiriment with that-- and it does work as loing as teh goo is very fluid to fit thru the needle.... and i was thrillede to find teh huge stainless steel syringe/ impliment with which one gave fluids to one end of a horse or the other.... which i now use to distribute keroscene to start the fireplace..... sooooooooooo

i was exiting tractor supply and there at the impulse area was a smaller version of the horse enema thing.. and it was designed to infuse  roasts you are roasting.... i was so pleased to finally see how the world officially did this that i spent $14 and bought it....
totally forgetting i no longer cook anything.. having put the stove down on the street with a free sign long ago... so much for impulse buying;

speaking of things we have around ehrer....”pieces of rope too short to use is a real one.... it is not everyone who has a mamouth tripod which was engineered by one of janine’s volunteers to keep a sick donkey on it’s feet.. welol she is now keeping donkeys at 2 places fso beautiful that theer is no placed for a sick donkey tripod... so guess who has it????
I kept it for a long time because it was so well constructed then I knew it had to be for something critical so I put it in “the back”. and And it just became one of those things that crazy acres has which is of no specific purpose.. but all of a sudden Janine has a sick donkey again and if the donkey is not better today we will be digging that out to be used.. It's lucky we have that G tent we call it.. when I first put that up the camera people or at least some of the camera people made a great deal of fun of it asking why I needed a garage for giraffes and there was a lot gafaughing. Over that ridiculous structure.. well if you look at it now it is bulging with valuable items namely Bud.. who has organized the forklift as indispensable. at lifting up things like mowers so he could work on the Motors instead of crawling around on the ground.. so all those people who make fun of my thick donkey lifting tripod... how many people have a wonderful forklift to pick up heavy machinery to change belts and filters or put things back together again after mowing our rocks..

Buds ability to stand around and look at some piece of equipment that is not functioning and figure out how to make it function is astounding... and if there were more people like bud it would be terrable for companies like the ones who sell washing machines.. because the last two washing machines that were non functioning.. which corporate repair men had told me could not be fixed because they were now run on computers at a simple wrensen screwdriver just no longer worked causing me to go buy another washing machine.. but being a yankee teh concept of if we ever need a piece of it...... and is that around just long enough for Bud to come along with his funny little red electricity testing machine well I think I've seen at Home Depot for about $1.89.. the problem is you gotta know how to work it but any rate he found out that the switch in the washing machine was defective so for $13.50 he fixed not only that washing machine but the second one which had been deemed useless bye pretty much the same repair company so for $27.00. well no make that $28.89 add one piece of information which would be how to work that little dollar 89 machine. he he saved service dog project about $800.. which is why we now have not only the three commercial washing machines but two. of the of the personal sized.

bud has a bad effect on me.. because I know if I save things long enough bud will find out how to fix it.. so it behooves me to provide Bud with the best working conditions I can figure out.. Which is how the forklift is now being used for something the forklift designers had never intended.

Today's mind blowing. will include investigation of the sleeve concept of post hole digging.. The donkey cafe and the new puppy pen both have my concept of sleeves into which you put a pipe which holds things up my way of digging the hole for the sleeve has always been with a screwdriver and soup spoon which is far faster than any post hole digger than anybody else has invented so far for New England----- problem was with the puppy pen I wanted to go deeper then the soup spoon so we started bringing the shop vaccum. in the service so I can loosen up the bottom of the hole with a screwdriver or some other tall piece of metal and then vacuum out they loose stuff and let me tell you that is still an awful lot easier then the post hole digger which is fine in the sand but I've picked up too many singular pieces of 1 inch rock while the rest of the dirt stayed in the bottom of the hole

so much for my education

LAME BRAined—  very descriptive of my current condition... I am experimenting with the quantity of melatonin – I was taking ½  a 5mg tablet...  which gave me some sleep and no weird dreams.....til I met someone who takes 3 tablets..so .last night I took 1.5. and ...my head is not what it could be...

The scienced of physics rules again. – for every action there is an equal and opposite reaction—boy aint that true.

I AM NOT SUPPOSED TO PUT PEOPLE IN 2 CATAGOTIES ...     HOW CAN YOU NOT... SOME PEOPLE LIKE SPINICH .. SOME DO NOT.....-APPARENTLY THAT IS NON OFFEBNSIVE.    -- SO LETS TRY    -- THERE ARE GIVERS AND THERE ARE TAKERS.--SEEMS TRUE...IF WE SET OUT A BUNCH OF NUMBER 2 PENCILS  AT SOME MALL--- WITH A SIGN "FREE". SOME PEOPLE WOULD TAKE ONE- OTHERS WOULD SAY I DON'T NEED ONE ---BUT WITHIN THOSE CATAGORIES THERE WOULD BE  ANOTHER BIFURCATION-- THERE WILL BE TEH GUY WHO GRABS A HANDFUL-- AND THE OTHER END  THERE WILL BE THE  PERSON WHO SAYS " I WONDER WHO PAID TO HAVE FREE PENCILS HERE FOR PEOPLE TO USE??

TEHRE IS NOT A LOT OF UPKEEP TO OWNING A BUNCH OF #2 PENCILS-- YOU DON'T HAVE TO FEED THEM TWICE A DAY-- NOR DO YO U NEED TO CARRY POO PICKERS FOR THEM... SO I AM CONSTANTLY ASTOUNDED AT THE NUMBER OF PEOPLE WHO COME HERE AND SAY THEIR DOCTOR TOLD THEM THEY NEEDED A SERVICE DOG, SO WHICH ONE  CAN THEY TAKE HOME TODAY.

FORTUNATELY THERE ARE PEOPLE WHO ARE NOT LIKE THAT.....AND CERTAINLY TEH SUPPORT IS NON SPECIFIC AS WITNESSED BY THE GUY WHO NEEDED A SERVICE DOG AND BUILT  US A SWING SET.  THERE IS A "WHAT COULD I DO TO HELP" ABOUT SOME PEOPLE.... LIKE ALL THE FOLK WHO KEEP US IN POO PICKERS-- ESPECIALLY WITH FUNNY SAYINGS ON THEM.. WE LIKE THOSE...

SO TO GET AWAY FROM THAT CONCEPT... TRY JOBS... JUST IN CASE YOU ARE CONSIDERING A CAREER CHANGE....

THE JOB OF GETTING TO WORK IS DEFINITELY PART OF THE JOB.....  WHERE WHEN AND HOW TO GET THERE....IS TIME AND MONEY

.. -- HOW ABOUT ----COMMUTE OR NOT TO COMMUTE-- WHICH WOULD ADD 3 TO 4 HOURS TO YOUR WORKING ( AS IN .. NOT FREE TIME) DAY-- ALONG WITH CAR COST... PARKING , GAS... TOLLS ... AND  SPEEDING TICKETS.   PLUS YOU PROBABLY WOULD HAVE SIGNIFICANT WARDROBE EXPENSE.    DRESS PROPERLY-- AS OPPOSED TO  OFF SITE ZOOMERS WHO HAVE TO BE DRESSED FROM THE WAIST UP-- LIKE NEWSCASTERS.  THERE IS ONE NEWSMAN WHO'S SHOULDERS ARE SO BROAD HE HAS TO  HAV E GOT DRESSED SO FAST THAT HE LEFT A COAT HANGER IN THERE  AS WELL. .

THEN THERE IS THE   2 WEEK PAID VACATION  VS. 20 HALF DAYS ON ALTERNATE THURSDAYS SO YOU CAN TAKE YODELING  LESSONS FROM YOUR AUNT LOUISE.

AMONG THE MOST DEMANDING-- DAIRY FARMING.-- THERE IS NEVER A DAY OFF-- THERE  ARE A LIMITED NUMBER OF PEOPLE WITH WHOM YOU COULD TRUST THE HERD TO---- AT ANY MINUTE SOMETHING COULD APPEAR TO THREATEN YOUR  LIVELY HOOD....  FIRE FIGHTERS AND BROADWAY  LIVE PERFORMERS SHARE THAT SAME PRESSURE.

ARTISTS  WHO  HAVE THEIR OWN STUDIO IN TH E BOONDOCKS. AND DESIGN  CHOCOLATE CANDIES ARE THE OTHER END OF THE PRESSURE BIT.-- THEY LIVE ON INSPIRATION ( AND LESS MONEY... WITH NO COMMUTE)

NOW THAT COV HAS TAUGHT US WORKING AT HOME HAS SOME WONDERFUL ADVANTAGES.... EVEN THOSE JOBS WHERE THEY SAY YOU HAVE TO GO INTO THE OFFICE ONLY ONCE A WEEK. ....  THAT MAKES FOR A LOT OF BUILDINGS THAT  WILL BE EMPTY—AND HEATED AND AIR CONDITONED.   THE OTHER 6 DAYS... WE ARE APPROACHING A NON SUSTAINABLE SITUATION...—WHIPPED CREAM IS LABOR INTENSIVE----PAPERWORK FOR  INSURANCE COVERAGE DOESN’T COMPARE.

I give up... only temporarily

we have to go with ----things happen-- and not just us...   bergin university had the same such thing-- last week

I find it so strange to hear how your Etta died because just last week the controller at Bergin University was playing ball with her dog in the school play yard when her dog just dropped and died. It is such a tragedy and heartbreak. The dog was only 7 years old and healthy as far as anyone knew.
My heart goes out to you for your loss and I am sending you Healing Energy for comfort and strength during this time. People can be cruel without meaning to, and I am sure you are inundated with well-meaning inappropriate advice.
Dan

YEARS AGO....... i did have one of my  driving donkeys come running into the arena with. the rest and drop --- absolutely dead.  TERRIBLE BUT TOTALLY DEAD... WHICH IS not a problem... half dead can be devastating. ... as you try and do all you can to save teh animal.. janine is going thru that just now as one of the new donkeys from penna has pneumonia -- and she thought of using my oxygen generatopto provide o2... but the size was just all wrong..inogen's  tiny little nose clip would just not deliver...

i  have been involved with trying  to deliver O2 to a horse...  it was at the groton house event... hot day.. horse had just finished cross country and was stressed... the ambulance had a full tank of O2  - so we ggot a gallon water jug and cut off the bottom to slip it over th horse's nose, and shoved the hose in the other end.   it worked fine.

of late i did see a zoo vet do exactly that...   well maybe at some point one of you might need to know that water jug trick... who knows.
------

now there is a fact to learn that you will never need to know... a horse can only breathe thru his nose... there is no functioning path from mouth to lungs... like our feeding bags that we hang on their heads,  are designed to leave plenty of airway.. horses can faint  or worse...if they get blocked..

back to my driving donkey that dropped......... it was very difficult to come up with another donkey to fill that place  in front of the wagon....  but it was certainly a fortunate death.. it could have happened in the weston hotel ballroom with santa in the sliegh... EVER SINCE then,   I CARRIED a small tarp in the wagon...... just in case.
---
moving lightly on........there is a song....( you thought maybe not??)

be prepared---  that's  teh boyscout marching song ..
be prepared to hold your liquor pretty well
don't write naughty words on walls if you can' spell

i think that was tom leher--- a harvard math type...

------
running.  daughter here for coffee... her donkey is still alive.

AFFABLE-- NOW THERE'S ANOTHER DOG'S NAME LIKE CACOPHONY AND TURBULANCE.
WORDS DO MATTER.....

please....lets slow up.... we had an accident  of some kind... etta died-- on the top of puppy hill for no obvious reason.. thankfully it seamed to be instantaneous ---tho there are probably 100 emails i have received with woulda shouda coulda comments which go absolutely no where....

the cause of her death is only speculation.. and  there are dozens -- or maybe hundreds of reason she could have just dropped..
extremely sad... and causes a great deal of all kinds of thoughts-- but the sum of it all is... life must go on.
so please let it.
SDP  entire concentration at the moment  is. poetic......... somewhere between

 robert frost's "mending wall".
 and
rudyard kipling's "IF"

so i will take the day off while you all go read those....
